I guess what I meant by upgrades, was for performance. Just curious as to what people would do for inexpensive performance upgrades to this motor. Already have a stainless prop in my sights, but any other ideas would be great. Thanks

Best performance upgrade for boat = sell it and buy one with bigger engine.

Now... I'm not quite sure about the electronics of a 2007 boat, but something like my 2000 H180? It would cost less then $3000 to convert it from a 3.0 to a 5.7 V8 using mostly parts from Craigslist.

Hi JB,
Welcome to the forum.
I have done a few mods for performance to my boat which has the 5 liter 220hp carburated engine. That is about the same performance as your newer fuel injected engine.
I added a 4 blade stainless prop to give me a bit more acceleration as we use the boat for skiing and tubing more than top speed. I also took a chance and added a SE Sport hydrofoil to help it plane at a bit lower speed.
In my case these two performance mods seem to have worked for me. The boat seems to plane a bit quicker and it definately planes at a lower speed which is good for tubing and for children learning to ski.
Other mods for personal enjoyment are that I added underwater LED lights (http://www.coastalnightlights.com) and interior LEDS to give a nice blue glow at night. I had to change the stereo out when the old one failed so I added a Sony. I replaced the rear speakers with self enclosed units that easily slide into the side pockets and give more of a surround sound effect.
I have done all of my own maintenance. I even stripped my outdrive and repainted it last year.
Enjoy your boat and welcome
Rob

I want to strip my outdrive and repaint it also, my next project will be maybe taking the outdrive apart and seeing how everything works then putting it all back together. I really want to know how to do every bit of the service on the boat my boat myself I am sure it can't be harder than working on airplanes

Thanks for the ideas. I checked out the hydrofoil and that is definately something that I am going to add. I like the idea of being able to plane out faster and at lower speeds. The LED's are sweet too. Now I just have to wait for the weather to cooperate so I can have some fun on the water.
