This may be a stupid question, but I don't know what this is. I found it was unhooked when I was doing my cleaning? Is it for my speedo?? I have an Alpha One lower unit.

The speedo is a tube, that looks more like cable with a connector at one end. Is your trim gauge working?

Assuming it is a tube not a cable ( hard to tell from the pic) and it is at the front of the out drive ( nearest the transom) it is for the speedo just click it back in to where it looks like it came from and your speedo should work again. I found out that after a service it had been overlooked by the "mechanic".
hope this helps

It's a tube. I was guessing it was for Speedo since it hasn't worked lately. My trim works fine. Thanks guys.

That is a speedo connector, should snap onto the other end. If you push it on and it pops off then the connector is worn. Running with it disconnected will let some water trickle into the boat as you are underway.
