Go it...that's from the bottom of the mechanics rusty red oily bottomed metal toolbox that he sat on the seat while working on the boat!!! If so you got rust, faded paint and oil......how bout a SOS pad....steal wool for the rust and paint and soap for the oil.......I would try it on a neighbors boat first though 8)

I was told bout the no bleech by an upholstery guy....but then again I wouldn't care about stitch rot in that area cuz that stain has to go...just don't make a habit of the bleech I recon...but hey if it works.

That could well be it.. the oily tool box all makes sense now. Hmm.. no way of proving it though.. and I've already paid the bloke
I'll give him a call but why do I get a feeling he'll know nothing about it!?

If that is stained from a dye, paint, etc.. you're going to have to bleach it one way or another. Put the bathroom cleaner with bleach on a rag and don't touch the threads.

You'll be replacing your interior from UV damage long before any effects of short low concentrations of bleach cleaners. I use 303 UV blocker and always use my bow/cockpit covers and still.. the top of my bow cushions in gray vinyl are getting degraded pretty bad and by mid summer they will need to be recovered. The white is still like new.

I use lysol mold and mildew in the purple bottle on my vinyl when it needs it.

Incredible stuff. It puts all that marine mildew remover to shame but like others have stated, keep it away from the seams and wash it down with a light detergent afterwords. It is either hit the stain with this kind of stuff or learn to live with the stain. Pull your boat/seat out in the sun afterwards and that helps as well.
