I have a 2000 h190 and I am doing some speaker upgrades. Right now I have replaces the back 4 speakers and added a sub/amp. Sounds awesome. The only problem I am having is its kinda difficult to hear the sound in the front of the boat when cruising. I can hear the sound in front when I turn the volume almost all the way up, but the people in the back cant even hear themselves talk at that point. I got some ideas where I should put a pair of speakers but just wanted to see what you all have or think would be the best spot to have them.

I can install them on the fiberglass wall going down to the floor in the front but seems to me that they would possibly be too close to each other. They would be about 2-3 feet apart facing each other and seems to me that the sound would be mashed. Also was thinking right under the back cushions either facing to the front of the boat or on the back cushions facing in towards each other. Hard to explain so I don't know if anyone will understand what i'm trying to say.

Any suggestions or ideas would be awesome.

Thanks

I had some then I looked at a picture of H190's compared to H180's. The front cushions are different so any plans I have for my boat won't work for yours.

These might fit somewhere in your bow. Small and good.

Best place is the Blue "F-in". Forget the other two locations.

The 4" Polk will be the best sound for the buck in the smaller size. If you need smaller I wouldn't go cheap. Get something name brand and highly rated.

Polk DXi series are the same as the DB series. Polk doesn't sell DB's to retail chains, but they got a deal with Best Buy and others to market the DXi series in stores. Just a different speaker cover and more $$. The MM series is the best, but they don't sell a 4" in that series. You won't find smaller then a 4" 2-way that's marine rated. If you need smaller you'll have to go tweeter but keep in mind you'll have no mid/low out of them.

Also mind the depth you have to work with. It can get shallow in that bow area. You don't want to cut holes then realize the speakers don't fit in all the way.
