Amen to ric's comments about taking the pieces to the upholsterer. That saved me tons of cash on my last boat. Turns out, at least in my case, they hate figuring out how to take each kind of boat apart - and time is money.

Wrong motor but I see this as a flip. I could make this look like new for $500 long enough to sell for 15k. bleach the hell out of it and just fix a few panels. then buy a proper boat.

The flip is exactly what I'm thinking too. Bleach/Comet then use as is for the season and have a vinyl guy do repairs over the winter, then sell in the spring. So it sounds like the consensus is $6-8k is the target range?

As long as it runs good, 6-8k you'll make money. Don't use it, you're begging for breakdown and costly repairs. If it starts and does a good power lap that's it. Don't even sign the title. I sold mine on eBay sight unseen in 3 days. Do the same.

I would be careful with that boat, it has been left out and not stored properly, I don't know for sure if it was in salt water (usually the outdrive looks a lot worse than that one, trust me). I would not buy this boat without a thorough deck/transom/engine stringer inspection. That blue gelcoat looks pretty oxidized too, I don't think that would come back for any length of time. It depends on if you are into a project or not. If it was used in salt and the manifolds/risers were not changed on schedule there could be rust on the exhaust valves or worse. On the other hand if the basics are good AND you can get the seating done for a reasonable price, it might be an OK buy. It depends on labor costs in your region. I replaced all the seating except the coaming panels on my 88 and it was pricey. I had the bow cushions done and bow and cockpit covers made and used standard seating from Overtons for the seats. It came out nice and still looks good because I keep it covered all the time.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I'm going to pass on this one and wait for a clean one someone is trying to unload at the end of the season.

I've been looking for Lysol mold & mildew for sale for a while, but no luck.... does anyone know what chain stores carry this? I have not found anything that will work better than a magic eraser, but would like to try this out!
