I've just recently retired and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. The house came with the slip and the boat was the reason for buying the home and not the other way around. This is my first boat, by the way, and I've waited my whole life for the opportunity. She's an 2011 H200 with an 4.3 M.P.I. 220 H.P motor with the Mercruiser Alpha drive. I have all of 5 hours on her and have been trying to wrap my mind around what's been happening since I splashed her.
Let me explain, I've never had a boat beyond a skiff with an outboard at any time in my entire life (I'm 53) but always wanted one. After one and a half years of looking...this is where I landed. I love her by the way. She's sleek, sexy and I'm happy to wax her when I'm not out trying to not wreck her. At any rate rate, she's been incredibly gracious to my hamfisted novice like endeavors.
I really just wanted to introduce myself as I'm sure I'll be asking for advice ad nauseum since I'm really, really green behind the ears. I've saved up my whole life for this opportunity and don't want to blow it. So I've come here to mitigate my chances.
Being on Lake of the Ozarks has proven to be a challenge. A bit of trial by fire. I'm sure those that have boated here will know what I'm referring to. I feel if I can get it together here, I'll be okay nearly anywhere else.
At any rate, just wanted to say hello and put myself into a position to get the help I know many of you may supply. Thanks in advance and happy boating to you all. I look forward to a long and interesting relationship here. Best....Jeff
