I'm considering selling my 2006 Horizon 180 to move up and was hoping y'all could help me figure out a fair price.

It includes bow and cockpit covers.

The boat is 100% mechanically but has a poorly repaired area of damage on the back, a bent trailer fender, some dock rash, and the outdrive is corroded.

Here are some more pictures of the boat - http://www.flickr.com/photos/53118973@N ... 536017244/]

The discolored area here is the section that was poorly repaired

Ask for 9,999, expect anywhere from 7500 to 8500. If it was 4.3GXi you'd get 10-12, the 3.0 is worthless in resale.

Clean it all up while you're at it.. and it only costs around $50 in parts to redo the outdrive pretty.

Thanks Ric. Is this the value in the current condition or would that be the expected sale price repaired?

I'm trying to decide whether to get the fiberglass repair fixed before I sell it. The boat shows very well except for the outdrive and damage on the swimplatform.

I think it'd be around $1k to get it fixed.

I did a search on average value on classified sites and NADA says between 7500-8500 and that's pretty much what they're selling for. I wouldn't bother to drop a grand to fix unless after a few buyers low ball you or do not buy because of it. Put it on eBay, I got $6500 for my 3.0 H180 but it was in quite a bit better condition with a bunch of extras/upgrades.

I think Ric is pretty much on the right track here. The boat does look a little rough. Looks like the skeg is broken off, too?
Quite a bit of "dockrash", including on the rub rail. Would be good to try to clean that stuff up, as well as the lower unit cleaning, if you can accomplish that without a big $ investment.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm concerned the outdrive would require lots of sanding, grinding and priming. Is there a simpler way to do it?

I don't have a garage so I'm pretty limited.

Mask it off, have at it with some sandpaper to make it smooth (NO wire wheels allowed!!), run down to the local auto parts store pick up a few cans of silver that match and spray away. Maybe 2 hours in the driveway? Not the best fix, but I did the same to mine and still looked decent after being in the water for 10 months.

The only REAL way to do it is to take the drive off, strip it, have it primed with deadly chemicals, etc. Even then... you might get 1-2 years out of it before it's time to do it again if you're 24x7x365 in the water.

Go to NADA.com , they have boats too not just cars for all years and what they are worth.
