50 mph with 280 hp? What a dog. Too bad Four Winns doesn't design in some performance in the bottom to go along with the looks. Full length lifting strakes, 6" pad-V bottom, and that 50 mph would turn to 60 real easy.

What’s wrong with 50MPH with a 22-foot bowrider? I do not think it is that bad considering the test boat had a duo prop which is not for top speed. If you chose to have a 220SS with 320hp/Bravo 1 drive it should top out much faster…

Four Winns is not known as the "fastest" boat out on the lake... Their hull was designed for handling in all the different conditions of water.

That being said, a FW will give a "faster" hull a run for it's money when in conditions aren't perfect.

Regal's fasttrack hull, for example -- is a super fast hull. Man - it's a sweet ride on flat water... but you get bounced around in bigger water where I've experience the FW does not.

At least, that's the story in Seattle... could be different in other places.

I would trade my boat's ability to handle whitecaps at 40+ over an extra 10 MPH any day.
