Got a few things done last night. The power controle center is done. Along with the removal of the old brittal 3/8" thru hull, replaced by a 1.125" stainless. It's just a tadd of a flow upgrade to accompany the higher flow of the new bilge pump. I used a 80 grit 1/2" sand wheel on my dremol to expand the hull hole. Simply I marked hole with the new with a pen and I renamed it out just enough little by little until the fitting was snug.

Well good and bad day. tach not working. Motor turns over but does not run. Couple things on the electrical check list for tomorrow. Coupe be a list of things... Computer could need to re lean because the batts have been disconnected for about 2 weeks. So couple things I "fixed that were problems last trip of the season"

-the connections to the high speed fuel pump.
-lanyard emergency shut off.

So. Here is the plan. Reset all of the reset breakers on the motor, computer, pumps.
Turn key listen to pump. If no pump then multi meter. Got to check both high speed and low speed.

Hot damn as I type this up I had a realization I don't have the start lockout wire to the ACR power controller is not connected to the ignition switch. For the lock out. Oh I hope that's the issue. Looking at diagram I think that this would cause this issue. Uuh missed wire drives me crazy. Back at it tomorrow. Well now after 2 hours of thinking and watching grays and scandal with the wife.

Man I was aggravated. But I'm not let it get me down, I just have to check things and find the issue.

Also looks like my trim sender is bad OH JOY. More concerned about the tach than the trim. All others work as should

Well still have not sourced the issue of the not starting, I have metered ignition. High flow pump the lift pump. I replaced the relay for the lift as I was getting power to the relay but not to the pump, well power to pump and not after the new relay. Well when key turns normally hear the lift for a second. Uuuh ok soothe computer is not telling the lift pump. Well I am now reading to see what I can find.

So I swapped in the blue LEDs to the dash. Oh wow I am so pleased, kinda mad the "blue" which looks green of the supposed to be blue switches don't match up. Oh we'll the depth gauge is red so I am a Christmas tree. But the gauges look damn good. The pic does not do the warm blue justice. Very easy on my eyes at 11pm night light. Minimal to no night depth vision loss one of the main goals getting away from the factory super bright white bulbs.

Well with replacing so much of the boat wireing. As you can guess a few things not working like the stern light but the bow works. Uuuh frustrating. I didn't even mess with the stern. Well that issue is for tomorrow. I was so agrivated I wanted to hear the stereo. So I fired it up and atarted tuning it. Only one small issue. Either a faulty crossover or bad speaker. Tomorrow I will pull it and mow to the wires of one the 3 I know work... I did t want to turn all way up to set clipping and maxes bc it was getting late. That will happen in the morning, the maybe 25% I did turn it up. HOLY CRAP it's loud. Ill put it this was if you crank it you know it. And no subs firing yet. Damn I am impressed with these Polk mm651um speakers. I will deff be able to jam while under power and listen over the water and wind noise.

well in the night i had an epiphany in the night... the new lanyard cut off switch... well hot dog i made a bypass wire and it turned over.. i then instantly turned off as i didn't have the water on.. so i metered the switch and wired it correct.. looked at the instructions well i guess they are backwards oh well it is correct now.. so i wanted to do a first fire after winter video... so here it is..... running smooth just like she was the day i winterized her. well from the sounds of it the alternator is the source of the squeal and not the old belts.. so thats the next item added to the list of "figure it out" but i am just so happy that she is running smooth.

Well today was good and bad all at the same time.

The good:
The stereo is freakig concert loud, plenty of volume.
We went on a boat ride.

Now for the bad:
The altinator made a hellacious screen about 4000 when testing my top speed on one prop. And it melted the belt breaking it Rpms rose and I shut down the motor. Rubber belt was smoking up the engine bay.

Well then I don't know why but motor wouldn't start back up. Don't need altinator to start, so I reset all breakers. I didn't even have the power for the stereo in the entire time we were riding simply bc wife and I were talking and enjoying it. So I flag down a guy after waiting out motor about 15 min. He was in a new Boston whaler 230 with a 300 verado, holy crap huge motor on that boat. He towed me about 75 yards to the landing.

Well I been working all day on boat and yard and other projects im beat. Ill deal with boat tomorrow.

I just had mine rebuilt for $69.16 with tax plus a 1 year warranty. If you have that option I would go for it.

i have the option for a rebuild for 55 but the closest shop that will do it is 30 min drive one way.. i ordered a new higher amp alternator from GA and it has lifetime warranty for $85 shipped.. so i upped from the 61a to a 110a which will help with the added stereo and triple bat setup i now have.. i also needed it done before the weekend so i can get back on the lake.. and the rebuild shop is closed all this week starting wednesday thru after Memorial for the guys vacation so that screwed me also.. with all those milestones it was easier to just buy one and have it here guaranteed before the weekend.

looks like today i will be going to get a tetanus shot as i got a decent dirty cut on something in the motor.. and i cant remember when i last had a shot.. i think it was less than 10 years but i cant remember so to be safe ill get another..

no work on the boat today. We are headed to a concert tonight so tinkering will resume wednesday with epoxy the in hull transducer mount..

last night i also found the leak.. well it was a drip that produced about 2-4 cups of water in the bilge.. it was a loose hose clamp on the lower hose for the raw water pump.. i guess it was either always loose or i may have loosened it when winterizing but none the less it is tight and right now.. i guess it loosened the seal of the rubber and fitting enough when riding to cause a small drip..

talked with the wife and end of the season once winter hits i am going to make all new seat bottoms as they all need replace.. and we will re upholster the boat.. i did our camper last year and it looks amazing.. everyone that has seen it cannot believe it was not professionally done... and 90% of the boat is roll seams and pull and staple.. camper was: couch, dinnet booth, 5 window topers, 5 sets drapes, 4 pillows, 2 comforters.. i re did all of that for $150 in materials.. i have priced the nice foam backed marine materials to be in the $300 area for what i need to do the boat. i already have the thick waxed thread.. i figure if it takes all winter little by little the savings and sweat equity will be rewarded on the tail end when we sell in a few years. but we plan to have here a good little while as the hull is perfect.. even if i re-power it will still be a more affordable boat than going out and buying new or 2-3 years old used so the work is worth it to me..

You do need the alternator to start up. That's where the power for the fuel pump comes from.
