They should look back at their own history, they made models as large as a 205 Sundowner and 200 Horizon with outboards, up until the late 80s. I don't know if they sold well,

They actually made the 205 Sundowner OB until 1995.

They had the 195 Sundowner OB until 1998

They had the 203 Coast Runner until 1996

They had the 214 Funship OB until 2001

That and the 17-18' Horizon/Freedom OB models that they had available until 2004/2005.

2006 was the first year in FW history they did not have an OB model at all.

The tides are turning, I think. Enough with those sleek sexy hulls with wide swimplatforms and sunpads, akkk! LONG LIVE THE OUTBOARD!!!

I like the idea of a "20 foot-ish" SL with an outboard.

Imagine the SL222 with an Armstrong bracket in place of the swimplatform...

Take This:

And add something like this:

Also, take a look at this Whaler with an Armstrong bracket:

To add the bracket to the SL222, the rest of the boat could remain unchanged. The interior/sun pad could be left as is. The hull would only need minor modifications, maybe only some reinforcement to the transom. the bracket could be made specifically to fit the hull and be mounted right at the same level as the current swimplatform. The swimplatform is about 2ft deep, so the boat is actually about a 20fter, since the LOA is 22'-2".
