Explain to me how I ran the motor for 15 min yesterday on the hose with no alternator attached to the motor. Alternator charges the bats. The pumps get bower from the bat system. After the master switch.

Wouldn't it run until the batteries are dead?

Here is a post that I put on another thread dealing with e-10 gas. I'll quote it so I don't have to type it all again, it describes how my fuel circuit works in my 99 180. Earlier models I don't know and with all of your hard work on the boat it could be different for sure. Just made a suggestion that I thought may help.

Quote:
Here we went from e-5 to pretty much all e-10 last summer. I could track the change by the amount of times my 4.3 vapor locked when the weather got real hot. I have taken all the steps for vapor lock, (insulate the lines, run the blower, changed the check valve yahda yahda). It locks when we have been running then go back to the beach or stop for lunch for a while. It will fire right back up and run until the fuel in the carb and the filter is gone then die. The fuel pump circuit is designed to run the pump for a couple of seconds when you turn the key on, with power supplied from the starter motor. Then it switches to power provided from the alternator, (If it determines that the engine is running) The ethanol laced fuel is evaporating from the lines while the boat sits, so the pump doesn't have time to fill them before the circuit switches. Not detecting the engine is running the alternator circuit does not come on and it runs out of fuel.
My answer was to install a circuit on a switch that bypasses the relay for a few seconds to refill all the parts. Once she starts we're all good to go.
I also use a Valvoline additive made for ethanol and have had some good luck.

Your boat looks awesome! I know you'll get the small bugs worked out and have something to be totally proud to have. Been a lot of fun following your adventure, keep up the good work!!!!!!

Pickled. The first main difference is I am an EFI (no carb) motor, 2nd both pickup and high pressure pump combined with the PCM only pull .65amps... So with the start dedicated 900 crank amp bat I could start the boat a few times and steady run off one start a long time off that one bat. My 2 bats house power I (potential) play time on a 3,200w stereo is 5-6hrs. So the minimal power the fuel system pulls to feed the injectors I can safely say I can drive back to the marina. And I still have option of combine and power emergency from the large house bank. Yes I'm over powering electrical. I have close to 100' of 0/1ga tinedarone power wire...

Just wait till I build the new motor (hint it's not a cobra ford or a met cruiser) and a bravo will most likely be required.

Guess the cat is out the bag. Yes it will fit

well man it sure is a timely process to vac all the nooks and crannies of a boat.. i spent 30 min vac, then cleaned up all my tools and things.. took the protective tape off of the amps.. cleaned a few things in prep for the weekend..
The red lights on the amps are going to look so good with the blue cockpit glow at night

So much stuff in the floor storage: 2 full rafts, 2 fat noodles, 3 fenders, 2 full size folding chairs, 2 neo jackets, wake rope, ski rope, 50' tow tube rope, 50' 1/2" no stretch boat tow rope, grill.

Best feature of the boat is the built in cooler. 28 beers, water, hater aide, condoments, brats.

My office. Answering some emails and conducting some business, this is how it needs to be every day. I may be having a talk with the owner tomorrow. Better yet may be time to start my own company that the wife and I have been talking about instead of it being a side business.

Is that side business boat restoration? Great job on the boat, it looks like you are already enjoying her.

Nope. I make custom knives. Every blade I make is from raw 440 stainless. I heat treat to 60+ Rockwell hardness, and make every component by hand from scratch. Labor of love and not a product for the thin pockets. Most below are oyster shockers. I've only been making knives little over a year

ok so we have been using the boat, and travel and life, so i have not updated this thread in a bit.. here is the new.. i have the cavatation plate hydrofoil fin ready for install tonight.. and i placed order for a new radio.. the Sony marine was not cutting it on couple reasons... crap Equilizer, bad RCA outs (only had a sub out) and the converter box i have is junk.. so i ordered a good unit..

Pioneer DEH-8500BH Blue tooth, HD Radio, powered USB 1amp charge ipod and phone, 4v RCA 6ch (front, rear, sub) "no more converter box", Itunes information, Pandora Radio, Mosfet 5band EQ (much better than the no eq on the sony) it even has voice control for iphone calling.. could be nice ill have to play with that feature..

overall this is going to be amazing upgrade in the sound department.. yes i know i did all the audio gear minus the head unit, but having a new or never used older model sony that came with the boat logic told me to use that.. well it is crap and will be replaced..

Those are amazing! I love to see that kind of pride in work, it obviously spills over to other things in your life (boat) Wish I had a reason to own an oyster shucker.
