I suppose, I have a mechanic that is looking into that for me. My gauge has a "W" that flashes at the bottom.

ON my speedo theory I'm just saying that FW isn't always the smartest and might have installed an additional pitot tube on the boat.. but in the Depth gauge if it reads temp its obvious because it displays it all the time with the depth reading. It will have a "w" for water temp which the transducer will read and you can scroll to "E" which is engine room or in your case air temp. But on a 180 I'm not sure FW uses that depth finder.

I agree with ccmblack. It's your air temp sensor. It's part of your depth/water temp gauge. If you press down you'll get the air temp.

Here's mine on a VERY chilly day:

The depth is 22 ft and the air temp is 24 degrees Fahrenheit.

ric, are you selling blenders now? :P I checked out Iphone 4S being blended. Really funny (but a little off topic from the OP's question)

I'm pretty sure that's your flux capacitor.

FWs figured you'd never get the boat up to 88MPH so didn't bother securing it.

Turn the key to accessory and then put your tounge on it....at least you'll know if it's hot.

FYI.. It IS a temp sensor related to the air/water temp. I had the same on mine when I purchased. I ran it to the horn housing, so I could get reasonable air temp indication, instead of underneath the black dash.

NEVER put your tongue on a Flux Capacitor! 1,210,000,000 watts of power could sting.
