Gotcha. If you need to, you could have brackets welded on to set the straps a bit further back to help keep them from rubbing.

Ya thats what I was actually thinking also, I am going to repaint the trailer here in a couple weeks and was thinking about adding a bracket. I repacked my wheel bearings and replaced the seals on friday. Just got some new Galvanized rims and new tires today. The old rims were getting rusty looking and really didn't want to spend alot of money for alum rims. Found a great place to get the rims with tires. It will look alot better then what it did. Thanks again.

I use the boat buckels also, and I have the exact boat and trailer. works great for quick entry/exit. by the way, my boat sits the same on the trailer. that 5.7 must push you over 50mph for sure huh.

Well , It should, lol I have been working on it, I wasnt getting the Horse Power I should have been getting so I been doing some work on the girl. I put a new prop on her and tuned her up, new plugs , rotor button , and dist cap. Greased the Gimble bearing and put my hat on backwards. I was getting right at 47Mph (GPS) I am hoping since the old plugs and cap were nasty, I will get the final umph to get me there. Yours boat sits the same as mine does on the trailer. do your tie downs angle in towards the trailer?

yes mine angle in, I know that boat buckel says that they shouldn't be at an angle but I saw no way around that. they have held up great, 4 years so far.

With a 4 blade solas amita 19 pitch I can get 46 gps with 3-4 adults and gear.. hit 49mph once with a nice chop.

*edited to say that 49 was by myself with less than 1/4 tank of gas.*

Nice, We don't normally cruise that fast but its nice to know you can get there if you need it. We usually cruise around 20-25 depending on the chop. So what did you do to "slightly modify" your boat. I like to hear , gives me ideas :)

to be honest I didnt do any of it. previous owner pulled an opps and didn't winterize correctly. ended up cracking the block... instead of just keeping stock he had a performance engine shop build up it up with a new block. I know it is it ported, polished heads, bigger cam, different pistons, holley 4-barrel, edelbrock performer intake.... that is all I can remember off the top of my head but the parts list was pretty impressive. not sure why he didn't just swap in a 350, but the hp out the 4.3 is right at 260 ish hp, and 350 ft/lbs of torque, I suppose it is right there with a stock v-8.

should note that I've since swapped out the 4-barrel with a 500cfm 2-barrel and intake to get better fuel economy.... sad thing is I don't think it is any better and I know I lost horsepower... will be putting the 4brl back on for next season.

Wow, thats awesome HP. I am only running 215 Hp, I have a Holly 2bl carb. That would be why he didnt , he got more HP and less weight. Man you should be running in the 50's yourself.

I here ya... can't get the speed bug out of me. then I go and ride in a SVT river rocket this weekend and now if feels like everything is slow as can be. damn thing does 100mph without breaking a sweat it seams. now that is fun...I've been over 160 on a sportbike, 175 in a car and I'll tell you what, doing 110 in a boat is by far the most rush out of the 3.

oh and as far as the wife I don't have to worry about that anymore...lol and the girlfriend knows better than to question.

I'll have to scan in the dyno print off.. pretty flat power curve also... just really wish I had that v-8 sound, something about that sound. I would bet with the right stainless prop I could hit 50 no problem, but the wisconsin river is a props nightmare, so I stick with the 100 dollar Amitas.
