My 22ft cuddy has a 220hp V8. With a 4 blade it works just fine with 5 adults. Slow to get on plane after that. I've had 10 people onboard and yeah.. Fast idle only. 270hp would be amazing with a high 5 prop. No issue carrying a full load.

We boat off of Cape Cod. We have had a H180 and H210. We always make sure we pick our days however there are plenty of afternoons where you need to push through 2-3+ foot chop. It can be painful but given the size of the boat it does fairly well and we have rarely been nervous. With that said we are moving on from Four Winns for a boat better fit for salt and waves. If I wanted to buy new I would be all over Scouts duel consoles. They are a great mix of comfort and utility and reasonably priced. I am looking forward to possibly getting a mooring now that I will have an outboard. Good luck!
