Hey there. My tow rig is a 2008 Tundra with the 5.7 engine. I tow about 500 miles round trip every weekend (Milwaukee to Eagle River and back), and the Tundra has NO problem pulling my H200 SS. I used to have an older Tundra with the 4.7 and it did just fine; but this truck dominates. It has a Tow/Haul mode, and a sequential shift mode, which lets you pick whatever gear you want; if you're in a very hilly area, it really helps to avoid any gear hunting. I love the combo of the six speed tranny and the 381 hp motor; it gets the job done. Our other vehicle is an FJ Cruiser, but we never towed the boat with it yet. I'd rather take the truck, just due to the longer distance travelled, and I have more room for gear, beer, and our two Rottweilers in the truck. My two cents.

I traded the liberty (I inhierited from the wife) see wanted an TSX so I took over the Jeep for 1 yr. Wanted an FJ Made a deal last Sept. I love this vehicle, tows so MUCH BETTER then the Liberty, I notice the boat ONLY on steep long hills & sudden stoppage but other then that It night & day vs Jeep. My only problem is I drive 123 mi round trip every day to work for the last 16 yrs  SO i buy a new vehicle every 4-5years & get killed on depreciation miles.

Old thread revivals rock.

We have a 2004 F250 that we use 95% of the time. We just traded in a 2007 Tahoe for a 2004 Expedition (that I got a smoooooooooking deal on since I work at the dealer). It was a step back in many ways, but price and such made a LOT of sense for us to do it. Anyway, here is the truck, loaded up. I have only towed the boat with the Expedition once, and it was at night, so I dont have any pics of it.

We towed the H200 up to Arkansas last year in 95-100 degree temps, up some STEEP hills, 75mph no problem. No way in hell the Tahoe or the Expedition would have been able to do that.

This is last year

No doubt about it...my truck pulling an H200 is WAY overkill.

I pull our 195 Horizon with a 2001 3/4 ton Suburban, 6.0L. Doesn't even know it's there.

I also tow a 7400# 32.5 ft travel trailer with it, so the 195 is just a warm up.....

Not much for gas mileage, but it will pull virtually anything. only 67K miles on it too!

We have an 05 F150 with the 5.4L. Tows uphill, downhill and pretty much any speed I choose. I now have 65k miles on the truck. The only thing I have had to do so far besides routine maintenance was replace tires, brakes and shocks.

It is overkill, but I like not knowing it's there. :D
