I've only had one long tow at highway speeds. As my H200 was brand new at the time, I removed the bimini completely, and ran without any canvas. THe gotcha for me was leaving the cockpit snap in carpet in place. A couple snaps came loose and apparently one end of the carpet flapped around in the cockpit. No damage to the boat, thankfully, but the carpet edging frayed in a small area, and I had 'black dust' from the carpet backing all through the back of the boat - some even got into the engine compartment! Needless to say if you run without the bow cover at highway speeds, remove and stow snap in carpeting.

I've tried towing long distances both with and without the bow and cockpit snap covers and there's negatives either way. With the covers on, the cockpit cover wears paint off the aluminum windshield frame. With the canvass off, the wind blows around the snap-in carpet and my rear jump seats. I'm going to seriously look at that new trailering cover that fits over the rub rails and secures without snaps.
