Thanks for the comments about the tower

I had a local shop (Warlocks), in Sacramento/Rancho Cordova area do the install, in fact I got a great deal on it, around $1200 for tower and install. The tower is polished anodized Alum it's 2.25" in diam. The owner had a falling out with a shady dealership, he repo'd the inventory from the dealer, since the tower was already made I got a great deal since it could fit on the 180.

The mounting points are really good, its right on the middle cleat wood block, and the back mounts has metal backing plates.

I love how the canopy works with the tower. Did the tower come with that canopy setup? What brand of tower is it?

Damn NorCal, that tower is awesome. What nice lines to go with the boat and the way the canvas is set up looks (works?) quite cool also.
Kind of inclined to agree with gomes, the bow rails do look nice. Graphics are a nice touch. Overall some really tasteful upgrades and boat appears much larger with the extras - nicely done! 8)

Gomes,

Thanks mang! Funny thing, IMO I really like the no rail look of the new boats.
Does your boat the bar on the inside? I think theyr'e trying to make it look more like a wakeboat?

Uhhh, yeah I have the recessed rail. Its cool in its own way I guess - gives a little more steamlined look - but a drag to clean & wax around and I find I forget its there from the outside and pour water down into the int. when I am washing grrrrrr soppy carpet. :?

I like the rails because it give a solid look to the boat. I have the standard rubber handles on the inside of the boat. They are functional but look a little cheezy.

That is a sweet looking tower. Doesn't look like it folds down. If not, that's cool too. There such a pain to fold by yourself anyway.

JX,

The bimini top is secured to the top of the tower by Velcro. I had the option of putting snaps on the tower, I said "no thanks" the velcro has worked really well, I've had the boat up to 40 MPH. w/o any problems. The tower name is "Air Cannon" you can purchase it through, http://www.bulletspeakers.com they sell really good speakers, towers, lights etc. etc. the owner Jamie (hamie) know his stuff. been in the biz for a long time.

Brent,

Thanks for the comp! the tower does fold down, but it folds forward. When alone, I do the circus act where I unbolt the tower, lean it forward and then step over the windshield to lay it on the bow..so far no problems...most of the time I leave it up! only down for winter storage...

Blessed,

Thanks so much for the compliments! We've only taken it out a couple of times this year, couldn't tell what others thought of it? Not like I really cared or something. I guess Californians don't really say much...

I think "I'm done with the boat for now"....I just want to enjoy it! Of course i could sell it, and buy another boat and start another project! jk....

Sweet Norcal. Thanks for the info. I think I'm sold on this tower. It looks great on your boat. One more question, Can you walk under it without having to stoop too much? Thanks!

Thats a purdy boat ya got there! love the yellow with the side exhaust and tint. I believe you have the factory FW tower? Wish i could have put a factory tower on. Ski Safe insurance dropped me cause i have an after market tower, had to switch to progressive, seemed like ski safe had to many claims against aftermarket towers. i told them this was done by a shop and its really sturdy with good backing plates, still dropped me. Oh well!
I guess it has to do with people doing their own installs, some better than others....

The factory tower was mandatory for me while shopping for a new boat. FourWinns uses XTP towers which are distributed by the best damn company I've ever dealt with, MonsterTower.com. So it's covered under the factory warranty.

Go TO THIS THREAD for an example of sturdiness.

JX,

The Amp is mounted in back of the built in cooler under the glove compartment on the left side, the wires run under the bow section.
