That glass can take it. The wetsounds 10 weighs every bit of 12 lbs and works very well mounted in the glass. Also, it only requires .7 cubic foot for sealed enclosure applications. If you're set on the under seat application, I really like your plan about side fireing throught the external seat support board. This will allow the sound to flow into the cockpit area. You will be limited to an 8" though. To compensate for the smaller sub you may want one on each side under the seat. One quality 8" will sound much better than a cheapo 10" FYI. I'm sure Joel can attest to this.

Mine is an 8" thought it was a 10" then I got to looking and remember we couldnt fit the 10 and my stereo shop convinced me to go with the 8 so I could keep it all stealth, that was very important to me being I leave my boat on the water. I would go with 2 8's under the seat down firing. I have my stereo guy working on how to put 2 Wetsounds can in my boat without a tower. I love to challenge him.

An 8" not a 10"? Now you tell me - I already bought a 10" Momo to 'follow in your footsteps'. No wonder I'm having a hard time designing a .65 cubic foot box to fit in that space. I kept looking back at your pics and thinking, how'd they do that? I finally assumed that they made a smaller than optimal size box and stuffed it. I'm looking at forward firing matching the angle of the box 'face' to match that of the seat to get the height I need. It'd fire forward and slightly downward. May have to think about the side firing idea. I like the idea of incorporating the box into the bench, to keep bench removal simple, but worry about trying to remedy a myriad of rattles.

Hmmm, rattles. Yeah that issue had crossed my mind also. It was the cooler "rattling" that concerned me the most though. Hey, pass me a brew please . . . I SAAAAID - PAASSS MEEEE A BREWWW PLEAAAASE . . . . twist PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT! (thats the sound of me getting soaked and cranky) Dammit. But I bet the girls will be fighting for that seat . . . think I will set a reserved spot right next to it for me. K that was probably a little much

Yeah I know guys it would be stupid not to simply put it in the kick panel up front but I just don't think I can bring myself to do anymore cutting. I think I had tears cutting for the 7.7s, wierd.

I guess the box will not be too much work to try at least and I get the stealth also. Kids not to far from here bother me so i want to install where it will be tough to get out. Actually used tamper proof SS screws for the speakers (the head they are welcome to). I can always resort to the cutting if I have to. Never though about the vent thanks TX.

I hadn't thought of the vent either. I put 2 more sony 6"er's spaced evenly on the bottom of that bench seat, so I could temp remove the one on the starboard side to test jole's theory. I think I'll try that before I move it to the ski locker, because the damn thing is useless where it's at, unless the venting works. Way to much vibration going on and not enough solid pounding, like you'd expect. I'll report back on my findings later.
