I think it'd be nice to not have to keep scrubbing the non skid on the swim deck to keep it clean....

More dirt and grime collects under the mat than on the non skid. Yes, it is hidden by the mat, but you will still have some scrubbing to do when you lift the mat.

Did the kids actually slip on the wet non-skid swim platform before the mat was installed ?

$350 for a rubber mat !!!

In the FW web site the mat is listed as $362.00 US as an option......I figured $350.00 CDN installed from a dealer was fair.......or am I out to lunch here?

Hey Lee - Here's my 2 cents on the Mat. It does get very hot in the sun, but I keep a gallon jug with part of the top cut off to rinse it down with lake water and cool it off. We're not wake boarders or skier's but overall I much prefer having the mat on their for it's no slip properties. We hang out on the back of the boat alot. You just have to keep it wet and it'll be fine. It won't come off during towing if all the snaps are installed and snapped. We also have the ratcheting cover and it does cover the swim platform and mat. The under side of the mat gets fairly dirty, but we just scrub the surface with some soft scrub and give it a good rinse and it's just like new. Here's a couple of pictures for your reference:

Not a great picture of the mat, but I think it's about the only one I've got.

Thanks for the pics David........I think it looks better with the rubber mat........and it looks like a nice place for them all to take their shoes off lol. I'm going up to the dealer tomorrow to have a look at it again.

I like the mat. Is it slippery at all when wet and bare feet? I know it will be better traction for the pup when she jumps on and off the boat. But how about for us human folk?

FYI, here's what it looks like when it is epoxied directly on the platform (no snaps). Not the best angle in the world, but you get the idea. The resolution makes it look a little uneven at the edges but it's actually a really clean fit.

Yes, it does get way too damn hot. No doubt about it. You have to keep it wet to keep it cool. I have towed about 500 miles round trip with the mat on the boat and never even worried about it. It made the trips just fine...at speeds up to 75 mph.

I know somebody who has the gator grip and it very nice. His is black and it doesnt even get hot. Its definately an alternative to the factory mat.

FW has not built my boat yet. I am wondering if I can get the mat permanently adhered to the swim platform on my 200 like the one posted above? Going to call my dealer now and see what he says. I like that idea a lot better...no water can get trapped under there for mildew to form. We could go a few weeks between uses of the boat that will be rack stored at our marina. Knowing I can eliminate water collecting there is a plus for me.
