With my boat and the 8 x 7' 'low profile' door I have, I need to pull the emergency release and back the door up as far as it will go to get the couple inches of clearance needed. By 'low profile' I mean the double track railing system for installing a garage door where the interior clearance to the rafters is minimal. Another way of looking at it, is when my garage door opener is done raising the door, the door still obstructs about 4 - 6" of the opening. The emergency release lets me push it far enough back to clear more of the opening. Worse thing is I only have about an inch of clearance on each side - takes me a good 20 - 30 minutes to get the boat in or out. I keep telling myself that I'm going to pull both 8" doors and put in a 16' - I'll belive me when I see it.

Do not go by Four Winns specs. I have a 2008 H200. When I bought it, fitting it in my garage was a must. The specs from FW said it was 7'3" on the trailer. I went to the dealer and measured it myself. It was 6'6" with the bimini down. I informed four winns, and they said I was wrong. I informed them I put a straight board across the windshield, and took 2 measuring tapes and got a reading of 6'6'. After informing them of this, they said they would look into it. My point is, check for your self in doubt.

Just bought a 2007 H200 with matching FW trailer. I need to fit it into a 7hx9w garage. I believe the trailer width at the wheels is 8'6". Can anybody verify the width please.

That should be right on the width (it won't be wider than 8' 6" at least). I'm not sure you're going to have enough height though.

Unfortunately, I would need a 12' door on my garage. My H260 is around 10.5' to 11' tall with the light and ski hook on top. My boat is in storage at the lake, which sucks because I can't tinker with it unless I haul it home.

Just so people know. A 2007 Four Winns H200 will fit through a standard 7x9 garage door quite easily once you get the hang of it. Hardest part is just getting the wheels through. You have about 1.5 inches on either side of the wheels but afterwards you have about 4 inches on either side for the boat. The boat takes about 21 feet with lower unit raised so if you have the length you are good to go. There is about 2 inches or so from the top of windshield to the top of the garage door frame. It is probably the largest Four Winns that will fit through a standard garage door. I believe once you go larger like the H210, H220 etc. they are too high on the trailer.

It's nice to be able to store the boat the in garage.

I know the 248 is listed as 10' on the trailer and I believe the 268 is 10'6". Not sure about the 278.
I squeezed my boat in a 9'6" door last fall by letting some air out of the tires.

It also has the radar arch on it. Looks like it adds about 2 or 3 feet to the height.

It's also going to depend on the trailer, and if you're going by a listed trailer height on a spec, you'd better be sure that you have the trailer they spec'd it with.. My 328 went in a 14' high opening, barely, I thought for sure I was going to have to let air out, but I didn't, so somewhere, my measurements at being right at 14' or 14'1" were off (in a good way thankfully!)..

TDF2001,

I saw your pictures in another post. I'm still amazed you fit your boat through that door. That's a close fit!

LOL, yea, it's pretty tight, but I've had it in and out of there now a couple of times, and think I have it down... It's a furniture store warehouse, and at the front they have a lot of stuff stacked on either side, so, you have to hit the right angle going in the first time due to the lack of room going in the door, and then, about 20'-30' of a lane inside the door to keep it in, with little to no room to maneuver as well.. Once you get to the back, it's pretty wide open.. If it wasn't for the price, I might consider looking elsewhere, but it's hard to beat $35 a month for a building with a concrete floor and big enough for her.. Helps to know people..

With the arch the 268 sits around 12' 6" high. We had to drop our arch to get into storage this winter and it wasn't too bad. I need to create a white rubber gasket for the base of the arch so I don't have to recaulk every time I drop it. Do you remember what the height of your boat was with it down? Was the arch able to sit below the windsheild?
