OK my first post! My wife and I bought a used 2003 H240 this summer. It only has 140 hours on it and was stored in a garage for the last 2 years. Essentially it is a new boat! We absolutly love it. I am towing it with a 4WD Nissan Pathfinder. We use it on a North GA Lake. It has the Volvo Penta 5.7 but is not duoprop. I am planning some upgrades this coming year such as Ipod interface for the Stereo. Considering the swim platform as well... Does the platform extend the overall length of the boat a lot?

Kelleyo...welcome. We have the same boat as you but a few years older and have the DP. The extended swim platform is about 24" of extra length. I have considered adding one. But we rarely swim off the boat. We head to a secluded beach and anchor in waist high water. We hang out on the beach for the day. So for the $1800 I have been quoted from the local FW dealer it is not worth it to me. Nice looking boat by the way.

Thanks! We always anchor in coves in about 20 ft of water and love to swim off the back all day. I think the swim platform might be a nice addition! Ahy idea waht the additional performance of the duoprop is on the same engine? Power and fuel economy?

Wett Doggg is right it adds about 24" to the length of the boat.... The newer models have a much larger built-in swimplatform our original platform is about 20" but the extension gives a nice big place to hang out (and protect the young ones from the prop). I also like the fact that it drops the boarding ladder 6" deeper into the water and we gained an extra storage compartment. We use one for wet lines and shoes and bathing suits and the other is used to keep the beverages cold!

Cool! So when they took out the original ladder they added the additional storage bin? Does it have a drain like the other one?

Thanks!

And to the orgininal poster, sorry if I hijacked the thread... I hope you get a 240 like we did. Great boat!
