The boat has a 350 MAG 300 HP MPI with the Bravo III drive unit, dual batteries and the Premium sound system which consists of upgraded Sony speakers, a Kicker Amp and subwoofer. The stereo sounds ok but it could have more bass. Once complait I have already with the stereo is we have the rear facing speakers and you can't control the volume on them. It seems like when you get the volume adjusted so it sounds nice inside the rear speakers are blasting and could disturb those around us? I might have to rewire the back speakers separately so I can use the fader to tone them back some.

On another topic, I read an earlier post further up this forum where the genleman was commenting about having troubles with his trailer. I hope this isn't the start of a bad trend for me but on the second trip pulling it the brake caliper broke in half and ruined the inside of my rim. Luckely this happend only a mile from home. I haven't even had it out on the water yet and had to make a warrantee claim to get it fixed. There is less than 100 miles on the trailer and it's already in the shop and unfortunately still is. I hope I don't have any trouble getting reimbursed for my damage?? I keep everyone in the loop on the service I get from Four Winns.

We plan to take the boat out on the water Saturday (if it's fixed)for it's maiden voyage. I will let everyone know how we like it. The windshield complaints have me a little worried.

You just have to face it Four Winns trailers are sub-par. Its a boat manf trying to squeeze every dollar they can into a sale so they make thier own. Not many and none of the top boat builders will even attempt this.

If the amp is a 700.5, you'll need to adjust the gains on it to get the speakers evened out. Also, make sure the F&R RCAs are paired correctly between the deck & amp. If they are correct, your fader will work properly.

I should clarify. The other poster asked how well it deflected the wind. Compared to a full windshield the lowpro windshield doesn't give you good wind protection at all, but it really hasn't been an issue. The only time I really wish I had the full windshield is when it starts downpouring or when it's cold. Style and looks wise it is definately the better choice for the SS style boats.

Love your color scheme!!! We opted away from the SS version because of the low-profile windshield too. Where do you boat in Iowa City? Oh yeah, I have the same trailer as you but I hope your's is more reliable!!! I've had a TON of problems with it (broken transom tie downs, 2 Carlisle tire blow-outs, broken brake caliper, loose brake lines, HORRIBLE amount of slop in the coupler mechanism, 2 leaky wheel bearing inner seals, etc...). Some things I've fixed myself but it still sucks!!! However, the boat has been nothing but a pleasure to own!!! It's a rocket ship too!!! Welcome again!

The SS looks awesome! However, the low-profile windshield was why we went with a Frenzy too. We purchased our first boat last year. A friend had warned us about the wind issue with low-profile windshields so we listened. Sorry about the trailer...we've had no issues with ours. Our boat has definitely been one of the best purchases for our family!

I love the color combo!

I like the low windshield. Sporty look and unless its raining, I stand up above the windshield anyways.

Great looking boat! Good to see another Iowan on here too.

You do most of your boating on Coralville? What's it like over there? I've done Saylorville and Red Rock but haven't gotten that far east yet.

Welcome to the forum. Very nice boat! I had my 220SS windshield exchanged for the taller windshield when they built it due to having sensitive eyes. After 2 years of use I'm wondering if it was the correct decision , because I'm up on the bolster most of the time anyway. The lower windshield would make it possible to garage it at home instead of a monthly storage unit.

We do most of our boating on Coralville Reservoir near Iowa City and also make several trips to the Mississippi river each year as well. We plan to make at least one trip up to Saylorville this summer becuase we have friends and family in the Des Moines area that also enjoy boating.

Back to the windshield, I only took the boat out twice so far since we bought it but to be honest the low profile windshield really has not bothered us. It does let more air over the top but I typically sit on the bolster seat when I drive anyway so I have adapted to the breeze. Sun glasses also help block what the windshield doesn't. It was my wife that I feared would not like it but she doesn't really seem to mind either. She usually sits up front anyway and I do all the driving.

I do like the fact that it rolls right into my garage and I don't have to pay to store it or leave it outside. That was the number one consideration when we looked at boats is that it must fit in my garage. We have a 24' long garage and with the retractable trailer I have 2" to spare :P

So far the only two complaints we do have with the 220 SS is the cooler is located in a bad spot under the seat in back making it kinda inconvienent having to ask your friend to get up and get you a cold one all the time. The other complaint is I wish it was louder when the exausts are open. I'm sure as we use it more I will appreciate it being quieter but for now it could put out more sound. I hear that there are deflectors in the exaust pipes that can be removed to give it more of a throaty rumble? Does anyone have any opinions or advice about removing these?

Well I best be getting back to work. Later!

The pipes will be hard to hear when under way, but my wife was usually telling me to turn them off!! I love the sound, but after a while you get used to them and they are plenty loud. Louder of course is always better!! We now have the Baja with a 7.4L 454 with the pipes coming straight out the back and it could also be louder, but then you draw the attention of the coppers!!

The sound of the exhaust on my boat sounds plenty loud, as a mater of fact when we did the orientation at delivery we thought they were already open when actually they were closed. I'm going to get my windshield tinted that should help the looks some. I couldn't fit mine in the garage even with the SS arch folded down any way and it really was a must have for me.

I was skeptical about the low profile also, but too boat in Tx and it's hotter than snot out there....i like the wind not being blocked also so it's a plus for me....also like the smoked look and reduced glare on the console. Actually, i normally stand when driving anyway.......only disadvantage will be if caught in a sudden downpoor....them raindrops hurt!

Nice boat....
