Boiled Omlettes

Okay, here you go.

We have made these for years at our last marina for a community breakfast. Here is how we did it.
Everybody that attends, contributes something. They would bring all the fixins' that you might like
in your omlet. Like, bacon, sausage, ham, peppers, onions cheese etc. Already cut up and or cooked and
ready to use. You can do this ahead of time and store in the fridge until ready to use.

The eggs we just mixed up in one of those smoothie maker blenders. You will need heavy duty (good quality)
zip loc bags and some boiling water. We used a big propane fired turkey cooker to boil the water, so we could
make several omlet's at the same time. Or if you did it at home, just a pot of boiling water will do.

Once the water is boiling, each person gets a baggie, fills with desired amount of eggs, and fixins', then seals
it up tight with no air in the bag. Drop it in boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes, and you are done.

They come out as good or better than they do in a pan or on the stove. It's pretty easy to do, and the kids
especially love to make them. We have done this on a Magma grill and used it just to boil the
water, and even on a charcoal grill on the beach.

Try it sometime, you will not be dissapointed.

Great post Cap'n! A huge +1 !

We've been doing it also for the past 20 years and like you say, they're foolproof. It is amazing that everything, including the cheese, just inter mixes and comes out as good as if it were served in a restaurant (or even better!). We have always added champagne to the egg mixture (how we first learned) and it seems to make them a bit more fluffy, plus it just seems cool and you have a reason to have a champagne breakfast. Also, if you write your name on the ziplock with a felt pen it really helps to tell whose is whose when you fish them out!

Hi everyone, Im looking at purchaseing a magma grill. My question is what attachment bracket would you purchase for my 180? I have scotty rod holders and from looking at magma grills they do sell brackets for fish holders, not sure about the plastic ones I have installed. There must be 6 different brackets you can buy, but with the 180 there is not much railing options or room at all. Any help me with this?

Late reply to your post on the grill, but we just bought a pedestal mount for the swim platform and it's great. One problem you may have with a 18' boat is the mount isn't fixed and you have to store the grill while underway. But for anchored and cooking...I love it.
