Awesome! That's how you get the ladies right there. Now just turn your wet bar into a keg tap like the other guy. Run the lines under the deck and put a full size keg in the bathroom.

One other thing to consider. Do not store gas bottles on board. They can leak, and lp gas is heavier than air. If they do leak it will fill your bilge with explosive gas. To solve this I made a storage tank out of PVC that slips over the grill pole. Small PVC same size as the pole and glued to 4" PVC for the gas bottles, and a screw on lid to keep them dry. Drill some holes in it to let air pass through and there you have it. A nice place to store those bottles and the regulator.

Here is a link to my DIY project. http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5519.

OK, since someone gave new life to this thread, I guess it's time to post a few pics of the Fridge.... Also, I installed an 1100 watt inverter on the port side of the engine compartment to run my Daquiri/Margarita machine. I ran the electrical to have it come up under the trash can next to my sink and made a small hole to pull the wires through, then put a 3 prong plug on it to keep it from falling back through. I place the blender on the counter and run the plug through the hole in the lift-up and it plugs in and works flawlessly. Finally, like a lot of others, I went with the led's as I'm on the lake at night time quite often. The last photo is a view from my back yard at the house I have in Boulder City, Nevada looking at Lake Mead where I boat. I'm about a mile and a half from my house to the launch.

Thanks guys for the kind words! You are the ones to thank, though. Most all of my ideas came courtesy of this forum. I've really learned a lot in a short time.

The lake is Lake Mead which is in Nevada, 15 minutes outside of Las Vegas. The last photo in the group of the lake is taken from my backyard at a house I have in Boulder City that overlooks the lake. I keep my boat in dry storage about 2 miles from my house as it's too big for the garage I have. Still a pretty easy set up as it's kept inside a building that houses about 14 boats total, and all I have to do is call them in advance and they valet it out for me to pick up. When I bring it back, I just drop it off and they valet it back into storage....all for a cost of $140 per month. Plus, they have an ice machine and you can fill up for free!

I've visited Vegas and the dam many times. Very beautiful area. I just can't believe that you keep your boat 5 hours away from home. Well, I admit I've done the drive from Vegas to LA in under 4 coming back from SEMA doing 120+

Huntington is very nice, I was there last year for a few days. Stayed at some shack hotel right next to the pier, the surf inn. Drank nightly at some bar that had an upstairs. One of the chicks from "The Hills", a brunette, was there a few times. Just as hot in real life as on TV.

Oh, I loved that bomb ass doughnut shack.

Not an area I'd live in though. Coming from Orlando it's just too laid back and remote for me. We have a town that's almost identical about 1hr from my house. New Smyrna Beach. Kelly and his brother used to be out there all the time. Lisa Andersen lives there, she's always out. Been in the lineup a once with Rob Machado, he makes everyone look stupid. Greg Arnette (Sunglass dude) was always out playing. You'd know he would come surfing cause he would first check out the waves in his helicopter.

Ric, my house at the beach to my house at the lake is just under 4 hours at normal freeway speed. Takes me the same time if I go to Vegas. I'm out there all year long and trailering that behemoth back and forth got to be just too much.

The bar you were drinking at was either Hurricane's or Fred's, and you're right, the Surf Inn IS a shack!

I would say that's crazy to drive 8hr round trip to boat.. but having spend many weeks around that area.... totally worth it I'd do the same. It's a beautiful drive through the desert. I took this picture just north of barstow

How long one drives to get to go boating totally depends on where the water is....There aren't that many boating lakes in Southern California - certainly not lakes that are more than day-use lakes...
So, if you don't want to take your boat in the ocean, you're going to have to do some driving. For good fresh water camping trips, I tow 6 hours to Lake Mohave which is a bit farther for me than Havasu, but with fewer knuckle-heads....

The drive through Barstow and Victorville I try to do as quickly as possible...

Erik

You are so right about the knuckleheads Erik. Unfortunately, there moving to Mojave also. It's getting common to have a DUI checkpoint when you come in at the boat launch at the end of the day. The rangers are on waverunners and take you over to a dock for the test. As far as the drive to Mead, owning a second home there makes it so I can go pretty much anytime I can get away (which is quite often). Mead is the next best thing to Powell as far as I'm concerned....

Mead and Powell are both on my list of places to get to at some point....1 of my buddies has a houseboat up on powell and I'm just waiting for my youngest boy to be old enough to make it a decent trip.
