Hmmm, no, there's one switch, the 3rd from the left, that has two positions - one for Nav Lights, the other for Anchor Lights...

Since I haven't played with my boat since early October, I can't recite the light switching layout on mine exactly, but I'm absolutely certain that the recent Horizons' dash lights are switched. I can run in complete, absolute darkness at night if I want (not that I'd be that stupid, but if I ever wanted to pretend to be a Navy Seal I could ;o) ).

Maybe all this is the result of the previous owner trying to change the dash lights from always-on to switched, and he screwed it up. Just a WAG.

Have you called FW about this? The new boats come with a complete color-coded schematic of all electrical systems. I wonder if they could reproduce yours and send it to you?

I have a 06 200 and there is only one 3 position switch and it controls the Nav/anchor lights and if you have it in either position but off the dash lights also come on.

The closest wire schematic I could find online was a 98’ 200. It looked like your cluster of switches but also only shows one 3 position switch.

It is as if the previous owner wanted to add something and removed the 2 position switch that may have been there and added the switch in question. Do the wires on the back look “factory” installed?

I also find it odd that there is something hooked to it and it is not labeled in any way. Making look like it was added after?

Just a guess.

I stand corrected, the dash lights ONLY come on when I use the Navigation Lights switch vs being on all the time.

I did check the fuse panel for the fuse that "blows" when I use the bottom position of the cockpit light switch and it's labeled cockpit light (5 amp fuse).

Still haven't traced the wires yet, there's a ton of them under there...

Greg, any update on your switch and/or wiring issues?

No, there sure isn't any updates, but it looks like this weekend we won't be going out on the water so maybe I'll try to trace it then. For now, I've just wedge some balled up tape under the bottom of that switch so in case I accidently hit it, it won't depress in the down position.

I've got the same boat - with the same color, same switches and same questions. I'll test out the trailer switch right away.

I'm doing some work on her this morning and will try to identify the third position for that switch - since I don't believe mine is blowing a fuse anywhere - I just haven't identified what it does.

That would be fantastic quadzillabill and much much appreciated!

I've not had the chance yet this weekend, but it's on my "to-do" list for later today for tracing the wires, which I wasn't looking forward too...

The dashboard switch in question is labeled 'Ckpt Lt' in the up position and turns on two cockpit lights. There is a center position which is 'off'. The lower, unmarked position does the EXACT same thing as the upper position - turning on two cockpit lights.

Wiring schematic seems to show that here:

http://www.fourwinns.net/ownman/Sport95 ... matics.pdf

The 'Trailer' momentary switch did indeed allow for what appeared to be a higher drive position than just using the trim control alone.

Am I the only one who reads that schematic to say that there is a forward and an aft cockpit courtesy light hooked to that switch? I might be way off, so someone set me straight if I am. Otherwise, it seems that one position would turn on one and the other would operate another set of courtesy lights.

I see them both there, but it appears to me that both positions operate the forward light - I'm not clear on the aft light. Both positions turn both on - but I have to say that the aft light is very dim in either case - so maybe something up with the wiring.

I'll probably call FW on it tomorrow for some insight.

Thanks so much for the information quadzillabill. Guess I'll be tearing into the wires now to find out why the bottom position blows the fuse but the top works ok...

As for the Traileriing switch, the tilt up button appears to raise the outdrive all the way up without having to depress the trailering switch whatsoever, so I can live with that for now.

My read also indicates it turns on both forward and aft courtesy lights, however it looks to me as though the diagram calls for a two position switch.

Will revive this one and take a stab. I have the '96 200 SS and my rocker switch in question controls forward 'walkthrough' courtesy, aft 'couch' courtesy, and port/starboard courtesy's. Up position, I believe, turns on all four, center is all off, and down is port/starboard only.

Hope that helps.
