install an automatic bilge pump. water problem solved.

Buying a cover that keeps the water out is a better solution.

A bilge pump in the ski locker would require you to install a through hull for the drain. I solved this by having my bow cover made so it covers the anchor locker. You really can't change the drainage since it has to flow front to rear where the pump is. Keeping the boat bow up is the best way of making it drain.

I have the rubber mat with drain holes as well...also used same material to place in bottom of storage under rear seat and engine cover side storage areas.

I periodically lift them out and wioe with damp towe...occasional dove liquid soap and rinse for ski locker which removes and oil spillage from bilges too. I always store with floor storage door opened and storage compartments partially opened...lets boat breath and prevent mold.

I wasn't too impressed with the carpet being always wet in our ski locker as well. I picked up a box of these click together tiles, clicked together a mat from them then used the carpet as a template, and made a new mat from the tile.

They are a rubber material and slatted design (so water drains through them), so no worries about holding a smell, and simply hose it off when it gets dirty. Works like a charm, and a cheap fix.

+1 on this idea. I did the same thing with 12" square plastic tiles that look just like these rubber tiles from canadian tire. Mine are blue flexible plastic, but were about $5 each, so the Rubber ones at $1.80 are a better deal.
