Not to jack this thread, but do all areas lead into the ski locker for drainage and then to the engine to either be drained through the pump or out the drain plug hole?

The locker is one huge topless tub with one drain hole.

Txjole?

Did you make it to the cove yesterday :?:

We cruised by and did not see your RED SS!

That info on the locker is good to know.

Does the locker drain have a check valve?

Thanks,

OOOOOO! I love food coloring! I'm just going by what my sales guy told me, which was "Everything drains overboard." Since I'm still awaiting delivery, that will give me plenty of time to buy some extra food coloring in preparation for this experiment.

It will get overboard in time once the bilge kicks on. I think he was talking about the glove box cooler it has an overboard drain.

After seeing this post, I figured I would give it a try and see what happned when I was cleaning the boat out.

First, I took the power sprayer and sent it down the tube in the ski locker to clear everything out. Then I put the hose in the locker and let it run for quite a while until the bilge pump automatically kicked in.

At the point the bilge pump started, water was up over the hole in the ski locker and quite a bit beneath the engine. Seemed like there should have been more towards the back for as long as the hose ran.

When the pump stopped, I pulled the plug and quite a bit more water came out. I'm assuming this is normal.

Sorry to get back on topic.

We had the same issue with our 230 and the dealer had to move the gas tank back a few inches to solve the problem. The tank was installed too far forward and would hold water in the ski locker. I guess how the hull body is shaped under the deck and how the tank fits in, it traps the water. He pulled it back about 2 inches and the problem went away.

I tried a fish tape and compressed air to blow it out but it no matter what I did, it would only drain very slowly. If you use a mirror to look into the drian hole, you should see the tank and the drain.

Good Luck

I also tried the fish tape, but I could hear it tapping the floor once it got by the gas tank. I didn't take off the floor panel to see what was going on, but it did drain when the bilge pump kicked in, water just didn't move to the back of the boat very fast.

Could it be by design to keep some of the bilge water in the middle of the boat instead of it all accumulating at the back?

No it has a blockage. You want the water in the bilge.

A few more pictures from the cove could help spawn a solution to the ski-locker problem.

Agreed. Wasn't there some type of problem with the black bikini boat that you properly documented with several detailed photos? :D
