Ric - I bought my trailer summer before last from Boat Tune. They had bought out some inventory from a dealer that had gone out of business - it was about 2 years old, but never titled. I had shopped new and used trailers all over and the price I paid was about 1/2 my next best bid. Trailer's been great (Karavan) and I actually like it much better than the stock FW trailer we had before.

You'd drive a 260 or a 310 if you had to...

One thing I do like about the "older" models like my 01 is the open floor plan. The newer style has so much room taken up by the big sun pad.

This is a Karavan trailer also, must be from the same lot. I love it, much better quality then what came with the boat. Fits 100% perfect.

Where do you normally boat? I live on Lake Howell. In the summer it gets to be a really big party spot without any worries about the boat police because it's private.

Not so!.... We would not got our 06 H240 and 08 H260 unless it had that big sun pad/lounge seat....
There is a boat for everyone....

Wow, the sunpad area was useless for me, I wanted interior space, or a big swim platform. No need to tan ;)

Ric: We like to boat all over...We usually boat in the Butler chain - it's convenient to where I live. The water's clear and it's close enough that we can drop the boat in and head out for an evening coctail cruise for an hour or so. We also go up to the Harris chain in Mt. Dora once in a while - there are serveral good restaurants on the water. We really enjoy saltwater as well.

As for the boat layout - I really liked the layout of the 242 with the full wrap-around seating and the smaller bench seat off the swim platform. The layout is one of the things that has always stopped us from moving to a traditional bowrider - our boat has a huge bow area and forward swim platform so the kids and their friends can hang out up there and have their own space and the adults can have the back. The newer deck boats have the cockpit area pushed a little more forward than ours so the bow area is a little smaller and the rear bigger w/ more stuff near the swim platform (sun pad, seat, etc).

This kind of says it all. Sure the 5.7 is available for the boat, but FourWinns reccomends the 8.1 Gi/DP

Sure, if someone else towed it around for me. :) For anyone who has to tow, especially long distances, every time they boat, something like a 240 can be an excellent compromise with regard to how much tow vehicle is needed, money spent on gas for towing, etc.

The 240 (with the sunpad that I agree is big) would be tight to have more than about 6-7 people on a regular basis, but for groups up to that number, I think it's ideal.

Now, if I never had to tow and had unlimited coin, I'd be all over a 310 with twins. :)

Sushi, not the 310? The 32 Cobalt bowrider is kinda nice too...
