I see. I didn't know that. Now you're forcing me to take a mirror and look in mine this weekend. :D

Well I let the boat sit in the water for 4 hours, went for a 2 hour cruised, parked at the sand bar and let the kids jump around for an hour. I checked for water about every hour and I got nothing. So I guess I don’t have a problem. I will just have to keep and eye on it.

The only difference I can see from this weekend and the last is this time when I went out the water was like glass. As oppose to last weekend with the holiday when the lake was packed and very rough, well rough for an inland lake on a holiday.

 Our leak was around the Captains Call exhaust system.

Also our bilge pump did not have a thru hull installed

:D Everthing is working well now :!:

FYI – I found my leak. The two bigger U bolts on the stern both leak pretty well. I assume I never noticed when I was looking for the leak originally because the boat was low on gas and I was the only one in it. So maybe they where not in the water? They both look to be sealed and tight and I have never used them, I guess just not enough caulk.

I have a 1993 210 and just discovered that I have a leak in my transom when I put it in the water last weekend. It had been sitting in the driveway since March and accumulated some rainwater (*plug still in - my bad). Repair shop said many thousands to rebuild transom because the early 1990's FW's had a bad design and weak wood. Two questions: does anyone think the standing water accelerated/caused the problem, and what does a rebuilt transom cost? Thanks.

Regardless of design, I could see how accumulated rainwater for a long period of time could cause rotting of the wood in the transom. Don't know what a repair would cost, though.

After doing a bunch of skiing and tubing i noticed the bildge come on and dump some water for a few seconds. I just assumed it was from all the water coming in from people into the interior, as i have only seen it that one time.

I had this problem too, the older Horizons with an anchor locker (before 92 or so) all drained into the ski locker and then under the gas tank to the rear bilge. I had the bow cover re-done to include the area of the anchor locker. There is much less water in the boat now, I do get some thru the cover in a very heavy rain, but light rains nothing. If you leave your boat, with a dry bilge, in the water for several hours (no rain, no people getting in and out) there really should be now water in there. My boat is moored and that is a test I do at the start of every season. Keep in mind freshwater rots wood, salt water doesn't. So excessive water in the bilge, or even worse a leak around the transom is a bad thing. Of course we salt water guys have a lot of extra work with the growth we get, but probably less rotted transoms.

As far as the bilge swith mounting, of course mine did not have one, I added one and the way I did it was to take a piece of aluminum stock, bend it at a 90 degree angle and mount the pump and the switch on the lower portion, the vertical leg I mounted to the bulkhead in front of the engine. If there is a problem with the pump or swith, I just remove the 2 screws and lift the whole thing out. Be VERY CAREFUL if you are screwing into the mounting pad on the bottom of the hull. I'd be tempted to make a bracket and attach it to a vertical bulkhead instead like I did.
