Boats are pretty simple to find parts for when they're still decently new. Unlike cars/trucks all the boat manufacturer does is create the hull design and some seat cushions. For the most part they rely on standard aftermarket parts to put things together that's why pretty much every boat looks like every other boat. It's actually a big problem in modern boat design that's why FW hired Frenchy. If you look at a 2012 Regal or Bayliner where they don't do any in-house parts and are basically catalog boats they are virtually unchanged in the last 10 years.

In the last couple years companies like Four Winns with their new radical designs have been creating more parts "in house". In turn that means higher prices but you wouldn't have boats like the new S215 if most if it wasn't designed and created by Four Winns. That's the next step in boats, more in house design less off the shelf products. That's good for the consumer because now a 2015 boat will look 2015 instead a 2015 boat that looks like a 2001 boat.

The downside? It will be harder to get parts.
