I love the job you did restoring your boat. I have a 1993 210 that is in great shape but could use a little attention and you have inspired me. This winter is will be getting new carpeting and a few other things. One thing I have not looked into is the aluminum around the windows. It has like a haze on it and needs some help to get it looking good. Did you have this on yours and if so, how did you deal with it.
Thanks.
If you are thinking of getting rid of the old carpet, get rid of it and do not replace it. Instead, get the deck re-finished by a 'glass shop. They can remove the nasty glue used for the carpet. Then have them re 'glass if needed, and finish it with non skid gelcoat. When you re-install your seats make sure to caulk/seal every screw hole with Life Seal/Life Caulk or 3M 4200. That, will make your boat last longer than anything else you can do besides getting a good cover that keeps out water. Carpet on a boat deck that is cored with plywood, is a creator of ROT...think about it would you put indoor outdoor carpet on your house deck, of course not. The boat companies like carpet because its cheap and covers up their crappy 'glass work. But it has ruined more boats than anything else. NO carpet in any open boat unless you live in the desert...LOL......
