There was another poster who had his engine temp
spiking to 250 and the ECU would shut the engine down. The engine was not overheating. I suggested that the wire from the sending unit to the gauge could be intermittently grounding out. I advised hooking up a separate wire and see if the problem is gone then.

Question...is the sendor suppose to be facing up or on it's side? Or doesn't matter?

It doesn't make a difference which way it fits, the oil pressure sender just screws in the top of the block near the distributor...(Chevrolet engine, not sure on the Ford)....
