Find the hole in the transom and then trace it from there.

Yep...my "tube" runs in through the front of the outdrive.

Nothing here....

Interesting....I was going to post the same thing as Txjole2 because it wasn't adding up for me before. My pitot is separate from the outdrive also. VP must have implemented that fairly recently?

Learn something new everyday....

It's apparently part of VP's redesigned drive which came out during late '06.

boat is at home in the driveway, I'll be looking for it shortly. And yes, as Steve pointed out no external line to follow, the pickup is in the lower unit and the rest is hidden.

I would imagine it is similar to the setup on the Merc B3. If you run the trim all the way up, the tube from the lower unit to the upper is accessible and you can start there to make sure it is properly connected.

Find the source of the leak. If you can't tell where the water is coming in, take the boat onto land. Once you have it there, fill the area that is leaking with water. A boat leak can cause expensive damage to your boat and all of the items that you keep in it. It's important to quickly plug your boat leak to avoid further damage to your boat and to keep water out.

Well, we can put this one to rest. Jole had it right on. It was the speedo tube coming from the lower unit. There is a splice between the tube from the lower unit and the tube from the helm and it had become seperated. It was zip tied together in a bundle of wires up across the back of the transom right behind the engine. Water was sheeting across the ledge back there and running down into the bilge, that's why I never saw it before. Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions on this one. Jole if you see me out on any of the TX lakes, especially Lewisville, flag me down, I've got some cold beers for you!!!

Awesome! Glad you found the problem. Now hopefully you can relax the rest of the season.

Just saw your question. I have an 04 h230 which had a leak we could not find. No leaking at slow speeds but when we powered up noticed water in the bilge. The leak was coming in behind the rub rail. Going to pull it off and seal it. Never would have found it if I just happened to see water entering while the boat got up to speed.
