Yes, that is SMALL, but Newegg is not say how big it is. I need at least 8 gig. I have been using my wifes I-pod to get over the 512 folder limit. But I hate the Ipod because of its copyright restrictions and you need to use I-tunes!!! There are work arounds to I-tunes, but it should not be this hard like other MP3 players.

I used to be a big I fan, but I moved away I got tired of the restrictions. That one I posted is 4gigs that will mainly be for the boat. I use a SanDisk Sansa mp3 player in my car that plays everything without restrictions AND the best part is... it's USB plug is "standard" so the radio reads it off the USB port and you change songs/folders with the radio, shows music info, etc just like the ipod/iphone when plugged in. It's a Sansa Clip 4 gig and it was like $40 bucks and it also has a microSD slot. Throw in a 32gb card and for under $100 you have something pretty substantial that you can use anywhere(car/boat/home/gym/etc) and also doubles as a thumb drive for file storage.

Once I have the I-pod running its fine. I can control it with the Sony wired remotes that I have on board. I have over 1500 songs on it and it plays just fine. With the thumb drive, I have to change folders.

Really? My sony doesn't have that issue it plays through and just goes to the next folder when done. Maybe it's how you have it sorted. Each artist is a folder in one main folder called "music". I can also browse by artist, etc. I know they ask for a format of how it's laid out on the usb to work correctly.

I have it "rendom play" (did I spell it right?). It sounds like you have it set to play one song after the other, that I have not tryed. As far as playing it & the info, mine does the same too. If you read the manual, it tells you not to put over 512 song per folder. I like to mix them up, with over +1500 songs its nice. The 8gig was far less, at the time I think it cost me $10.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820139595

Finally got my LED's in the mail. Will install and take pics tonight!

No progress on the radio yet. I might start that project tonight also. I at least need to get the old one out to measure the hole for exactly what I need for a bezel

Camera phone does no justice, but forgot the point and shoot...

8 "194" single SMD red LED wedge bulbs. In person the brightness is perfect. Total cost under $20 shipped from ebay.

Thanks! It feels good to see work take progress. I think the decision to keep this boat, upgrade it and not sell it was a good one. It's really starting to come together. The 2000 style boat isn't far off from the later models and only takes some newer mail order parts to bring it up to date.

Hmm, I might just bite. Does everything I want and looks sexy. Just came out.

I had this unit in my last boat and will be putting it in my 01 170 when I get it in next week, awesome unit, IPOD nav controls take some getting used to, but otherwise great unit...

No interest in CDs anymore and the ipod/iphone plugs right in and charges.

I have read a lot of reviews saying the iPhone/iPod/MP3 players overheat while inside the unit due to lack of airflow and ambient heat from both the unit and player, any experience with that? Because I really like that idea as well, just reading those reviews made me hold back on buying it and got me hooked on the kenwood instead...

New radio in the old mount. Sounds flippin amazing!! Better then my Sony CDX-GT700HD in my Lexus. How crazy is that?!?!?!? Shakes the whole boat with two db651's, crystal clear zero distortion at any sound level and it goes LOUD. Like so loud I was expecting the cops to come on the lake to tell me to turn it down. The JBL head unit I took out sounds like rusted dirt in a Campbell's soup can compared to this thing.

Image

I'm going to add two more speakers in the rear for the rear channels under the jump seats Polk MM651 and eventually upgrade the front to MM651's and a remote in the front bow area so when I'm beached grilling I can control the radio. I'll make the aluminum radio mount this weekend hopefully. The general consensus on the internet is that the DB651 are great and they are, but the MM651 are even better (and cost twice as much!).

The steering wheel four winns emblem it came in to the dealer and they are shipping it today, and the stainless cup holders are in the mail. I'll get some good quality pics soon. I also gave the snap in covers to the canvas shop today to get the seams fixed.

Well, got my $20 sticker! I found a perfect piece of aluminum to make a new radio bezel out this weekend. I'll try to work on it this week.

Well, finally we've had some rain for the first time in nearly 2 months. The lake has been down 2ft from normal so let's hope it comes up a little bit or I'm going to need a ladder to get down to my boat.

Don't ever order from midwesthuntersoutlet.com. I'm on week 3 of waiting for my stainless cup holders.

Not sure what to do next... window tint?

Stripper pole first.

Then a real head unit made for the iPod.
http://www.fusionelectronics.com/marine ... s/MS-IP600

Runs circles around the Kenwood and Sony stereo's. 3 zone, 70 watts RMS, D-Class amplifier. These are the optional upgrade stereo in Monterey & Regal boats for 2012.

Sorry that I didn't see this post earlier...I haven't experienced the overheating issue, but I also don't recall my ipod getting particularly warm in normal use...

I like the looks and concept of the Fusion units also - I shyed away from them because:
#1 - I didn't know if it would fit in the space that my old Sony came out of.
#2 - More importantly, I already had the wired remotes mounted for the Sony.

Personally I don't own any iDevices so ipod has no use for me. I don't see any reason to spend $300 on what a $10 thumb drive can do.

I canceled my order from Midwest Hunters Outlet, I've waited 3 weeks for my cup holders and they said it might be 2-4 more weeks! I ordered from Wholesale Marine instead, they have them in-stock in my size and only $2 more expensive each.
