Not trying to pry but if you have bellows swapped make damn sure the change out the shift cable boot also. Its like a mini bellows for the shift cable and will sink a boat too. Most mechanics will do it but worth asking to make sure cuz pulling that cable is a beaaaaatch. It all come withe a motor alignment and gimble check.

Thanks Alec and Ardy for the warm welcome.

Normally go to Hazelwood as that is where we jetski. Just down the road from Patto Lakes, so will have to try the bay at some stage... :)

Hi fellas,

Steve here from Sydney (West Pennant Hills). I have just bought a 2006 Horizon 180 with only 46 hours. Near new condition. I had a Bayliner (1750) before. No comparison. FW beat them hands down. Mind you I saw some new Bayliners yesterday at the Rosehill boat show. Look alot better. There were a few Four Winns there from Sydney Powerboat Centre.
It is very hard to get good service in Oz though. I have been trying to get prices for a swim platform to fit mine and also a centre cap for a woodgrain steering wheel I have.

As for where I launch my boat............ Sydney Harbour, best in the world!! Also the Hawksbury River and Pittwater in the northern beaches. Heaps of places to put in.

Any ideas on swim platforms in Oz? Non-genuine even.

P.S. The photos were taken from the previous owners.

Cheers

Gidday Steve welcome to the forum, nice looking boat. I noticed that you have a 4 blade ss prop, just wondering what your thoughts on its performance were. ie top speed holeshot etc. I do mainly tow sports with mine ( same setup but with a 19inch ss vengence)

Hi Ardy,
To be honest, I have not had it out on the water yet. Bought it 2 weeks ago. The day after I bought it it had to go away for a week for work. Then since I have been back the weather has been crap and work gets in the way. Hopefully this weekend....
Been hanging out.....
Will let you asap.

:(

Hi Steve,

FW spare parts are good question - you can try the FW dealer in Sydney or JV Marine here in Melbourne. We used to use Winnisquamine in the USA to source FW parts - especially smaller stuff, but they are no longer FW dealers... :( You maybe able to get a blank wheel centre from one of the auto shops or even a boat dealer.

Dunno what to do today...

I think the price to freight a swim platform from the US would be outrageous - my best advice on this would be to do the rounds of the FW dealers in OZ and see of anyone has one in stock (bought in but never fitted) or one that has been removed. They may also be able to advise who builds them locally. Failing this, maybe a local fibreglasser...

Thanks mate,

I am trying to get assistance here in Sydney. They dont want to help you much unless you are buying a new boat. Not much after sale service. P-ss poor. I actually spoke to the guy from JV in Melbourne. He said he may be able to help if no luck here in Sydney.
I have some other avenues I am sourcing. Will let you know,

Steve

Hi mate, not sure what you mean by boat days! If you are referring to clubs or whatever I dont know any except fishing clubs.
I put in at Bobbin Head (Apple Tree Bay), or Meadow Bank on Parramatta River, then drive up to Sydney Harbour etc.
Also Bayview boat ramp at Pittwater.
I lovethe Hawsbury River and Pittwater. Great places everywhere. Where are you from?

I am sure we can organise one! Collaroy, we are selling our house and moving back to the beaches (Belrose/Frenchs Forest) later this year. What is your name BTW?

Steve
