I got the last of the top side fill done and smoothed. Flipped the engine hatch and got the hardened primer rolled on. Leveled the fuel hatch and finish sand. Then it also got hardened primer and nonskid shaken on. Oh I'm so happy to have a smooth nonskid cockpit. Almost forgot that I had to wedge my 6'2" self I tot he ski locker to drill and mount the 2nd stainless gas strut on the locker hatch.

ok no new pics but this week has been lots of finish sanding and smoothing. The back rest of the hatch is smooth as glass. i originally was not worried about its finish then the wife made a good point knowing me that if i am delaying the upholstery for a bit. I would not be happy with the backrest unless it was next to perfect visually. So i pulled more finish fill and did more sanding on it. Well tonight the nonskid seam and back rest will get the first coat of prime. Then sand tomorrow and first white paint. Wednesday will be a 500 grit sand to knock any high spots down, Tape and then the nonskid goes on. Thursday will remove the tape and a 2nd coat of seal topcoat will go on. and the hatch should be good to go. Install int he boat Monday evening with a buddy.

Tonight i am rearranging some stuff in the shop so that the storage box can get on a set of saw horses and wiped down for top coating.

Sorry for no pictures. dust and filler is not very photogenic. But if you keep your pants on the next couple days should have some nice results. This weekend i will grab new fuel lines and vent lines.

i am about tired of sanding! got the primer on the hatch last night. today is 500 sand on edges. tape, and nonskid. so excited to get things installed. the cockpit needs a couple more small things and she is ready for primer.

First coat of top coat paint aka base top. Tomorrow mask the edges for the nonskid. Anyone that does not follow why I made the engine hatch perfectly smooth and nonskid. The reasoning is that I am so ready to be on the water we are delaying the upholstery so we can enjoy the summer. And me being me. I would not be happy with some paint slapped on a wripply jacked up hatch. It would bother me every time I saw it. Then the nonskid is well to not bust but.

Finally a spare other than AAA

Image

engine hatch covered till tonight. Bench on the horses. pilot holes drilled, hinges fitted, prep sanded. seat base or storage top made what ever you want to call it. Tonight i will round cut the corners and router it in prep for test fit on hinges then a couple coats of seal.

Image

Tonight the bench box will get primer and the engine hatch will get a final coat of paint (lets hope its the final coat.

Goal is to Thursday finish the cockpit floor prep. so that this weekend paint can happen inside of the boat. Fuel tank installed, new fuel filter setup install, fuel hatch install. So that next week the bench storage seat can be installed, seat bases installed, and the engine hatch installed one evening when a buddy comes over to lend a hand.
