set the tank in the future mounting location. I am happy so far with the clearances and space. The Tank is 10 gallons. The scrap of woof to the right represents the back of the bench seat and i have about 5" that i can shift the tank forward. I have a space to the stern for the pump between the tank and the starting battery. If you look thru the oval hole (factory bimini storage slot) you can see the space for the plumbing and pump along with the mounting tray for the battery. The spray paint cap represents where the filler will be mounted.

First coat is on, few thin spots, but that's fine for the first coat. Love seeing it one color.

2nd coat of finish paint. starting to look how i am wanting.

Image

got the replacement lower walk thru wall liners replaced so the stainless trim now has solid anchor material. I will put some 9oz glass over it tonight. These small sides along with the foot panels will have carpet as the cooler impeeds being able to sand the port side smooth and the starbord side has fuses and the subwoofer face with carpet. so i decided to leave those 2 small panels carpet as they get little to no sun, no foot traffic, and are tucked away and not easily seen.

Image

Image

cut a new piece of ply for the bench seat base to support the overhang. nice 21" deep bench will make for good naps and feel like a couch.

Another cost of paint. Ordered the plumbing fittings for the water tank, bought the new ball valve and fittings for the built in cooler to be able to plug the drain and open close it without sticking hands inside of the cooler water, new solid SS thru hull fitting for the cooler drain.

Wow! I'm impressed. You're doing a great job. I just noticed that your thread is 33 pages long; it's going to take me a while to read through it.

What did you use to clean the swim step?

Thank you.

R, Steve

green mean cleaning pad. Soft scrub with BLEACH. key is the one with bleach. Wet the platform, squirt some Soft Scrub around and agitate the entire surface evenly with the green pad. then i let it set a couple minutes and scrub again. Rinse and repeat if needed. I think i did it 2 times. After use a sealer wax so that the now open gelcot cells do not soak up any more dirty.

engine hatch covered till tonight. Bench on the horses. pilot holes drilled, hinges fitted, prep sanded. seat base or storage top made what ever you want to call it. Tonight i will round cut the corners and router it in prep for test fit on hinges then a couple coats of seal.

Image

Tonight the bench box will get primer and the engine hatch will get a final coat of paint (lets hope its the final coat.

Goal is to Thursday finish the cockpit floor prep. so that this weekend paint can happen inside of the boat. Fuel tank installed, new fuel filter setup install, fuel hatch install. So that next week the bench storage seat can be installed, seat bases installed, and the engine hatch installed one evening when a buddy comes over to lend a hand.

Looking good! I would recommend moving your spare to the curb side. It would be safer if you ever have a road side emergency.

Well I was not happy with my roll and tip painting results. So I pulled out the gun to spray. Now before you jump on me for not spray from the beginning. I have had great results with roll and tip before. And I did not want all of the masking and plastic work on the boat interior. But now I'll bite the bullet and mask as this paint is not roll & tip laying at the quality I am after.

So I have 6 coats of base. It will cure and tomorrow I'll lay 6-8 coats of clear. Let that cure then a light wet sand to wet mirror and a few stages of buff oil polish wax.
