- Lake Lewisville 90%, it's just to close not to use, about 4 miles from the house.
- 1st trip with the boat last spring was to PK, stayed at the Cliff's resort. Beautiful Small lake.
- Haven't been to Travis with my boat, but planning a trip there this summer. Very similar to PK, just alot bigger.
- Table Rock, MO mid summer last year, been going there for years. Endless boating, Huge Lake, many many coves and river arms to explore.
- Texoma just once last summer, want to go back again this year. Funny thing is we put in at Lowe's Highport drove a couple miles across the lake to a really nice cove and ended up just partying there until way after dark so we didn't see any of the lake and it's a big one. Use to take the Waverunner up there all the time.
- Richland Chambers once.
This post is reminding me of how awesome of a summer we had, 1st year with the boat. Can't wait for this boating season to get under way. We're gonna try to get on some more of the local lakes this year.
- Ray Roberts - Just north of Denton.
- Maybe Grapevine? probably to small and boring.

Did I mention, I'm so ready for summer!

Burdette,

The canal can be awesome to boat on. I have travelled it fairly extensively from Kingston to Westport. There are several places to stay along the canal but I would recommend throwing the tent and bags in the boat and setting up at the locks as many of them allow for overnight camping. Be advised that lockage fees can be expensive and most of the locks while authentic in appearance are slow and time consuming. For some good boating I would recommend the stretch between Seeley's Bay and Smiths Falls as there is a great boat launch at Seeley's Bay but it can be extremely weedy until you get out into the main part of the canal.

If its just a 2 nite affair, avoid the Jones Falls locks as they are time consuming ( 2 hrs +). I would recommend a trip from above Jones Falls up past Westport. Very beautiful country with lots to see. The Opinicon resort at Chaffeys Locks is supposed to have an excellent place to eat.

I have a vast amount of water that I can access from our home slip.
Lake Ontario (Canadian and U.S borders)
St. Lawrence River through the beautiful Thousands Isalnds
The above two are our main areas of play. I could also easily acess
Rideau Canal System
Trent Severn C[anal System

There are plenty of "back lakes" also but the H260 is too big.

Check carefully I think if you buy a season pass for either the Trent or Rideau you can use both systems.

Kingston to the bottom of Jones falls is a day trip. There are a couple of places to stay below Jones Falls.

Locally we have gone to Lake Elsinore, Perris, and Silverwood to get the boat wet. We prefer, however, weekend trips to Lake Mohave. Big Bear will be a day trip in May or June.

For fishing, Diamond Valley is in my backyard. I normally punish myself with the 6-hour drive to the Eastern Sierra's. This year will be the first time with this boat though.

You are correct the lock pass is good for both canal systems. The only benefit of early purchase is a free overnight at a lock.I plan on using up my 6-day permit and upgrading to seasonal early in the season. As I am located between Buckhorn and Lovesick locks.
Thanks for the input

Newfound Lake in Bristol NH.

Not a huge lake, but there's everything you could want. A restaurant you can beach at, a large sandbar, plenty of tubing and skiing areas with little traffic and crystal clear water.

Not a great representation of our home boating location, but you can see one corner of our home lake (Trout Lake) in the forground. In the background near the top of the page is the larger of our two local lakes, Lake Nipissing. Nipissing is reserved for fair days with little wind, as it can get extremely choppy in short order. Trout lake is fairly calm no matter how windy it is.
