I took delivery of our new H210SS this spring. On our first outings, my wife and I were both sure that the four blower vents at the rear of the engine compartment were blowing air out of the engine bay. At some point, we are not sure when, we found that ONLY the port or left side vent was blowing air, and even the blower motor sounded like it was coming from the port side only.

When we took it into the selling marina for our 20 hour check-up, we had the blower issue on our list of things to check. The service manager, and one of the ?techs? told me that only one side of the vents blow out, and the other side takes air in, to vent the engine bay.

In examining the engine bay, it appears to me that both sides have venting tubes attached to the vents. When listening for the sound of the blower on the starboard side, it is non-existent.

Sooo, does anyone out there have a 2012 H210SS or H210 that can tell me for sure if the blowers vent OUT of all four vents to the rear, or is it truly as they say at the marina...One side blows air, and the other side sucks air into the engine bay? Either way, I believe I have an issue, as if the blower was to take air in, wouldn't I hear the blower motor taking the air in? Shouldn't there be a slight suction of air on that side?

HELP! I can't seem to figure this issue out on my own. Thanks in advance for any direction you may be able to give me on this.

Blower is on port side and the marina told you right.....the blower will pull air out of bilge and remaining vents are return air vents....they serve same purpose when motoring at speed. If u hear one blower that's all you have.

I have a 2012 H210 and the blower is the same as described above.

Hooked to the left side or port and it blows air out. the other three just allow air to free flow depending on a air pressure inside the compartment as compared to the outside.

if memory serves me correct they are all a different lengths. Just run the blower at start up or lift the top up to let some fresh air in and when your at idle for extended periods.

Next time your out open the engine compartment and turn the blower on you'll see the (accordion tube/pipe what ever its called) that's hooked to the blower move up a bit as air moves through it from the blower.

Hi Seahorse,

Thanks for the information regarding the blower system and how it works. I guess that with the new boat I was just happy to be at the helm, and I let the admiral lift every seat, check every storage compartment, and sit in each of the available seat options, to say nothing of laying on all the available sun deck area. The admiral is certain (to this day) that she felt air being blown out of the starboard side as well as the port side. I know better than to argue or correct the ADMIRAL, so I will just say that it is a new "update" where the blower only forces air out the single far port vent. That may or may not satisfy her, as she swears that at one time air came out of all four. ...OK?!?

Again, thanks to all who repeatedly corrected me as to the operation of the blower. Sorry that I was a doubting Thomas, but I have learned to listen to the admiral...right or wrong! :P
