Hello all,

I have just purchased my second boat, a 1996 FourWinns Horizon DL Fish and Ski

It is in excellent condition. Interior is perfect! No tears, no visible wear no fading. Has Johnson 130hp outboard. Johnson trolling motor (rarely if ever used). The gel coat still shines, with only a couple of very minor dock rashes. Has original trailer, still in like new condition even the paint is good on it!

Includes factory mooring cover, bow and stern snap in covers, bimini top....all in excellent condition.
The seller even gave me a like new wakeboard, 4 man tube, and everything else he had.

I paid $6000 for it. Might have been a bit much, but considering the condition it was in, and the other "newer, beat to hell boats" that I was looking at, I thought it was a good deal.

So think this was an ok price? Also, we put about 6 hours on it last weekend, and it ran great! :D

Is that a Horizon 19' with 130hp Outboard? If so, then NADA book retail value is about $4800, however, it is extremely rare to find a 16 year old boat in the very-good condition you described... so $6000 is good if it is the boat for you. Keep it in very-good condition, and hopefully you should be able get a higher than NADA price when you sell.

Congrats :) Where's the pictures?

As anything in life. It's worth whats it's worth to you. :) I spent a lot of money on a Mazda Rx8. Most people would thank I was crazy. But they don't get to drive it!

I'm no nada expert but I felt the outboard motor models carry a better resale value in the smaller bowriders like you bought....try pricing a used OB motor in that shape without a boat attached. Sounds like a great deal and the more you use it the more worth the boat has.

You are always going to be money ahead, by buying the best condition boat you can, take it from someone who did a complete structural and cosmetic resto on an 88 Horizon, spending 2 grand more than the book value to get a boat that does not need work, is a bargain in the long run.
