If it's the separate gauges like my 2000 H180 was, it used VDO Vision gauges.

And they're complete trash. Click on my H180 mod's link in my signature. I swapped em out for Farias

You may want to check the ground to the gauge first.

so, not having much boating luck this summer. Blew exhaust hose, back to the shop. replaced both exhaust hoses and new thermostat. Another $350. But boat is back in water now. Decided I need to be able to watch water temp to be sure I'm not over heating. replaced gauge - still no reading on water temp. Can you explain how to "check the ground"? Also, I'm guessing I should replace "sending" unit. Parts are not expensive, is it any easy fix for someone who knows how to use a socket and screwdriver? Where on the motor IS the sending unit? Is it easy to get to? Any info appreciated. Thanks.
