I have a 1992 Four Winns Horizon 190 with a 5.0 OMC. We launched today and it started first try. Opened her up and was running great hit a rough spot and it died. I dont know if the bump had anything to do with it. Motor would turn strong but not start. Even tried to start while being towed back in after a while, same results. |

Check the safety lanyard. If not check the start solenoid maybe an ignition wire popped off. |

I did both those things on the water and off. The motor turns like its going to start but it seems lik its not getting fuel. |

check for spark at the spark plugs (carefully best to use a spark plug tester or else you can get a nasty 35K volt shock--high voltage but low amps) take off flame arrestor and pump throttle see if gas squirts into the carb (accelerator pump) you need spark n fuel for it to run |

Just like Lou said, first thing to do is check spark, next is check for fuel. If you have no spark focus on loose or broken wire somewhere. If you have what you think is fuel make sure you check for water...many people think they have fuel but water pumps through the carb just as well but the engine does not like to run on it ![]() |
