I just purchased my first Four Winns boat. I bought a new 2011 H260 in June 2012. I love the boat, its power (8.1) and layout. My concern is everytime I take it out something comes apart or more screws fall out of something. The dealer has had it as much as I have. Anyone else having issues with the quality of assembly? I have called Four Winns but they have yet to return my call. I have had 2 Bayliners and 1 Reinell. They never had these issues. |

Screws tend to come loose in new boats (and old boats). Not uncommon with any brand. Also not something you bring it to the dealer for.... you should be capable of tightening them. |

I have a 2011 H190 that also has had many build quality issues that really could be easily fixed. Many are things that the dealer should not have let go (don't buy from from Twin City Marine...I have seen posts from that dealership on this board), but there are also many design flaws such as screws holding down the windshield when they could easily be through-bolts (I have to retighten every couple outings), wires hanging unsupported under the helm (contributed to my boat being delivered with wires ripped out of light and hanging on the floor when delivered), and gel blistering. I really hope that FourWinns stops trying to save a few dollars (literally-if that much) in design and cheap parts and improves quality - there are many other good companies to choose from and reputation from the old days won't keep the company around forever. |

Screws come a loose and good dealer would tighten typical concerned area before the delivery to to customer and well as at the first 20 hours Service.... This is common for any new boat including Cobalt and Formula especially boating on chappy water. I have changed some screws to machine crews and nylon lock nuts and helps. I just went thru my new boat changing a few screws to lock nuts (not as many as our old H260) |

It is common but not acceptable, boats are still mostly built by hand, and mistakes happen. I corrected all the cheap short cuts in my'88 and am holding on to it, don't want to start all over, don't want EFI or cat converters, both add greatly to cost of repair on older boats.... |

I carried a small tube of 3m on my H180. Any screw I take out (or have to tighten) got a dab. I started doing that to the SR as well, half the boat was loose. |
