I am going to inspect a 1996 Horizon 190 DLX tomorrow and would appreciate some guidance. The boat has the Volvo Penta 4.3 engine and outdrive and was advertised as having only 200 hour of use. Is there anything particiular I should check for on the boat? I am not a new boat owner but am new to Four Winns.

Thanks!

Steve,

This is just my two cents worth (which may not be much)...Just two weeks ago I bought a 96' 170 Horizon with the same motor. I am extremely happy with my purchase, however I wish I would have inspected the engine a little more carefully while it was running with water through it. I just took my boat for a test run and discovered that the water pump was leaking...now I don't remember it leaking when I was looking to buy it and I did inspect the motor while is was running with water going through it, however if I would have looked closer I would have noticed the corrosion on the side and the bottom of the water pump. This wouldn't have stopped me from buying it but maybe a little negotiating power.

I just bought a 98 H200 with the same motor....engine runs great. wish I looked at the trailer a bit more....

I think as a previous boat owner your experience will be better than most first timers, biggest issue is don't be afraid to walk away...I got a bit too excited about mine......
