What kind of GPH can i expect from a fuel injected 3.0 in a H180?

You'll get 1-2GPH better then a 4.3, and be dogshit slow. 4 people on the boat and you'll max out around 30mph and want to stab people. It sucks really bad. Get the 4.3, you'll do 50mph and cruise at 30 like it's nothing. Parts are cheaper. Easier to fix. It's the best engine for a boat 17-20ft. Get the 4.3GL not GXi. It doesn't break. Ever.

Well thanks Ric. All ready have the boat and you know what. I am very happy with the performance not disappointed at all, So I guess some of us don't need to go 50mph all the time and suck fuel at $4.00 a gallon.

Any way my gas gauge is broken and I am just trying to get some kind of feel for fuel usage so I don't end up stranded some where.

How about just fix the gauge?

Here are some approximate numbers for a 3.0 injected:
RPM GPH
2000 3.5
2500 4.5
3000 5.0
3500 6.5
4000 8.5
4500 11
WOT 12

With no gas gauge, I would consider using 7 or 8 as an average (or higher for tow sports), then allow about 15 gals reserve.

Is it the gauge or the sender? Either can be fixed with basic hand tools in under 30 minutes not even breaking a sweat. Don't ride around busted and guessing... just fix it.

The boat is new and at the family summer home 60mi away from me and the dealer and warranty repair. I will be getting it winterized in two weeks they can fix it then.

Gidday Banoe
I use around 12 to 15 litres per hour in my carbed version. If I am just cruising ( 3000 to3400 rpm) I think it may even be as low as 11 litres per hour but that is in ideal conditions and loading. It jumps to around 14 to 15 litres per hour if being driven hard for slalom skiing around 4000 4100 rpm. All my boating is done in fresh water.
Hope this helps
