I just bought one. I'm curious if it's possible, some are saying no due to the new catalytic converters, others are saying yes it's possible? Emailed Four Winns and got ZERO response....

Thanks.

That's the problem, the local dealer the Four Winns website refers me to replied and said yes they could be installed. The dealership I bought the boat from said no. I've emailed Volvo direct and I'm waiting on a response but I think I have figured it out and it does not look like it is physically possible. You'll see from these images how the Captains Call exhaust connect and offer direct thru hull or standard exhaust:

Those would fit fine on a Volvo Penta GXi 270:

Now my "Super Ultra Low Emission" GXi-C-270 (surely designed for California) has huge catalytic converters in the exhaust manifolds:

Yes it can be installed, no different then if someone ordered the option on a new boat. You'll pay more after the fact, budget at least $10,000 to have this done using factory parts if you actually find someone who wants to take your boat totally apart. Maybe more. On a boat like yours it something you buy factory installed, and if it doesn't have it... forget it.

Hi Ric,

Your statement is confusing in a couple of ways. First, I found a complete set of Captains Call Corsa Exhaust on ebay for $1100, I've been quoted from multipul "shops" in my area that the install work would run around $2000 +/- So.. not sure where this $10k figure is coming from?

And second, I'm not sure if the pictures in my previous post showed up but you'll notice on the last image, after the large catalytic converter you'll see four stainless clamps on the vertical exhaust piping. Those represent where the water line is inside the factory exhaust, making it impossible to add the corsa exhaust on this model because they are design to attached to the manifolds well above the water line, on the area where you can see four more horizontal stainless clamps in images 1 & 2. That connection area does not exist on my particular motor the GXiC 270.

You are correct in that they can be factory installed on Merc Mag 350's and Standard GXi engines but not with the GXiC version.
