Hello fellow Four Winns Owners,

As of yesterday, after owning many other makes and models, I finally joined team Four Winns! I drove to MO to get my 2001 Horizon 230 yesterday and as fate would have it, while trailering it home a rock came out of nowhere and shattered my passenger side curved glass windshield into a million pieces not even 1 hour after purchasing the boat. WOW unbelievable. I understand that I can send the frame and all to Taylor Made and have a new one put in for a "small" fee of course. Before I do that, I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas; knew of any marine salvage yards that may have some late model inventory; knew of any models that used the same windshield; etc... I talked to Taylor Made and had the HID # ran and found that the part number to this particular glass is (060-1333). I'm still in shock and unfortunately my new boat excitement was cut short due to this catastrophe but the test drive was like a cadillac and I'm sure I'm going to love owning a Four Winns. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

That sucks.....out of curiosity do you have insurance? If so I wonder if boat insurance has a glass coverage clause like an auto policy.....where you only pay com
prehensive deductible which is not very high. Just a thought.

Or your auto insurance may extend since it was being towed.

Yea, this is what I'm thinking, the insurance on the tow vehicle should cover it I would think, but then it's deductible issue which is up to you if you want to deal with, and/or how your insurance company handles it..

Well, as far as boat insurance, I had just purchased the boat less than an hour before so I hadn't insured the boat yet unfortunately and as far as the tow vehicle, it has $1,000 deductible so I might as well buy one. The worst thing is that I KNOW somewhere out there someone has one they have no use for and would sell for 3-4 hundred dollars or even 5 would be half price; it's just a matter of doing the legwork to hunt it down and if I can find it in time. Don't wanna have this issue delay any outings come spring time.... Thanks for your help though.

I suppose it's possible, but I would not think someone out there has one just laying around for $300-$400. Your chance of winning Power-Ball is greater. Good Luck.

Check salvage companies in the north east....all the Sandy damaged boats....

This is why I prefer the old school windshield with flat or nearly flat glass, you don't get robbed in the replacement glass....if its even to be found...

Thanks but no thanks to your sarcasm. I posted this with hopes that someone would give me some particulars on any local salvage yards they knew of with a good late model inventory....... As for "my chances" of someone having one lying around go... Within about 2 hrs of searching around on the website of someone named Craig who has a List of things for sale.... I was able to find this particular glass as well as whole windshields for similar boats such as Chapparal 2330 s , 23' ebbtides, bayliners, and others that I assure you could be bought for a fraction that is less than 1/2 what the manufacturer would charge. In other words, if you don't have anything helpful to add to this thread, I'm sure no one at all would mind if you chose NOT to reply to just this one thread ;)

Thanks to everyone else for your help!
