Just shown today at the NY Boat Show. Thought it might be better to start a new thread.

Same boat in Frenchy's video walk thru (from the other thread)

I was not a fan of the cockpit layout on the 2011 and 2012 H200, but I do like this new H200 cockpit.
Engine access does look tight, but overall, they did a good job improving area's that needed it.
If they can keep the price just under $40K, they will sell a bunch.

I love my boat, but unless FW starts getting dealers instead of losing them (there isn't any anywhere around me), I won't be buying another one.

I suspect you will see boat show price of about $40K with the V6, which is nothing special compared to
FW competitors.

Interested to see the performance numbers with the 300HP engine.

Is it just the pic or is the gunwale somewhat bowed downward at midship? Looks odd

Slightly Grady-White ish yes...
I finally got the FW website to work on my home computer, the boat is beautiful inside and out and is a bit longer than the previous 200 which was 19'8" (now 20'4") but my old one is still longer at 20'9". There is less deck space in the new one compared to mine due to the L shaped rear seat. I think it will sell well, it looks fresh and stylish. 20 degree deadrise so it should handle rough water well. I'd love to see this with a 200 hp outboard. As it is now, the sunpad/rear seat design makes any engine maintenance difficult and replacing a starter would require an engine pull. I wonder if FW polled their customers and said, we can give you these silly backward facing seats (you can sit on the sun pad just like any other sport boat you know) but it will cost 4 times as much to do certain repairs that will be required sooner or later. Or, we can design it to cost less to build, and come apart in 10 minutes. Wonder what they'd say. I should patent my folding engine bulkhead design ;)

Went to the GR boat show yesterday. Took a few pics, and as I suspected, under $40K with V6.

They sold the new H200 at the show.
So somebody liked what they saw.

Sounds like they need to spend a bit more time refining it, I have to say the detail work on the Montereys seen on here looked very good.
The basic shape and look is good though.
Looking at these new boats you realize that a lot has changed, no wood construction for one thing (good mostly I guess) but more modular assemblies like the dashboard/instruments. I like the old style where you can replace the whole backing panel and install whatever gauges you want when the time comes to freshen it up.

See what I meant about the engine access. It would be 4-6 hrs to replace the starter if you have to pull the engine. Unacceptable, wasteful, poor design Four Winns. That's a great way to get people out of boating, because they feel that the people who designed it have no regard for them. A brand new Sierra marine starter can be bought anywhere for $150 and with good access its a half hr job, so there you go 200 bucks at NY labor rates ($100/hr). But because they are designed by impractical fools, it costs you 600 more. And, with the rear of the boat being probably at least 80" wide no reason for that. A Chevy small block is maybe 36" wide across the manifolds at most. That leaves roughly 20" on each side of the engine, if you leave out the crap nonsense transom seats and molded in fiberglass that no one needs. Why is common sense in such short supply in the boating world?

What do you expect, Frenchy just learned to speak "understandable" English a couple years ago. Having a clue(common sense)
about building user friendly boats will take quite some time.

My theory is that it is all about forcing people to upsize their boats. It is true that the boat companies try to market boats like these towards younger, less experienced boaters by making them look cool and marketing things such as sun pads as invaluable options. People that have been on boats for a while (primarily in larger bodies of water where you can't just get out to stretch you legs) typically realize how much it sucks to be trapped in a boat that you cannot move around in (not to mention barely stretch your legs out if you have a few adults in these new cockpits). After the newbies have their boats for a couple years and get this point, they have no choice but to trade up and go bigger... It is pretty clear that this trend in spreading in most of the FourWinns lines - such as the new 230 - one of the biggest wastes of space in a 23 foot boat ever...

Just curious...what is it specifically that you don't like about the new 230? Looks pretty similar to many of the "other guy's" 23 footers.

That's a strange article, it has a 2013 date on it, but that boat is clearly a 2005 200 Horizon. The new one is 20'1" long, and 8'3" wide. There is no more 5.7Gi, and they stated this one was rated a 280HP, which changed in (I believe) 2008 or 2009 to 300HP.

Agreed, very weird. Can't see the picture here at work, but I don't think Four Winns uses the "Aqua-flex" name for vinyl anymore either.
Must be that 100 degree heat in Salt Lake City affected the writers sense of time.

Nobody seems real interested in this thread anyway, we will just let it fade off into the sunset. Sorry for the POS article, I should have paid more attention when posting it.
