After 8 months of storage on our 2007 Four Winns Horizon we started it up in the driveway with the rabbit ears on. The water coming out of the right side was very limited, brown in colour and extremely hot. The right manifold was burning hot. All was good on the left side mainfold and water coming out was cool and clear. Any suggestions?

May have a blockage! Check your impeller a nd t-stat.

And check the oil to make sure it's not got a milky looking appearance. That'd mean a water leak into the oil.

If you're in salt water an 07 would be due to check the risers to see if they are clogging, if not, then you have a low or blocked raw water supply. I find that after about 5-7 years in salt you will start getting this rise in temp at the riser and usually you wind up replacing them if not both the manifold and riser.

As only one side is affected, then it is a blockage ( or blockages!) somewhere. Not necessarily in the manifold or riser.

It's a matter of working your way through the system.

As the other manifold is cool, it's safe to assume your impellor is pumping water as it should.

If it's a raw water cooled engine, then the water to both the manifolds comes from the cast iron thermostat housing ( on a FWC, it come from the heat exchanger, so is not exposed to iron). The outlets can become blocked with rust flakes or become very restricted due to corrosion solids. First check, is water leaving the thermostat housing freely ? ( disconnect the hose at either end and run the engine for a few seconds. Alternatively, remove the other manifolds hose and attach a garden hose). If not OK, then a blockage is in the thermostat housing or hose.

If all is OK there, then the blockage is in the manifold or riser; that involves dismantling to investigate
