Hello all. I have a 200 horizon and the anchor that I have just does not do the job. What kind would anyone suggest?

It all depends on the bottom conditions where you boat. Having said that, however, I bought a Chene anchor and use it in the mud bottomed Kansas lakes and the rock & log bottomed Missouri lakes. I use NO chain or extra rode - I let it hit bottom, pay out a few more feet, and tie it off. It hasn't failed to hold or release yet in 2 years, and it was *cheap*.

We have two Danforth anchors that I'm fairly sure are about 7lbs, each with about 4 or 5' plastic covered chain rode and 150' of line. Used mostly in muddy bottoms in 3 to 15 feet of water , and one of them holds great...we use two mostly for beaching or strange anchoring situations.
